Dragon Ball FighterZ is an upcoming 2.5D fighting game that aims to bring back the series to its roots. Much to the delight of many, it is being developed by Arc System Works, a studio you might know from their work on the Blaz Blue and Guilty Gear series of fighting games. In other words, there is actually a high chance they're going to pull this one off!

So if you're currently wondering what Dragon Ball FigherZ might look like in gameplay terms, wonder no more as Bandai Namco has released a brief teaser trailer focused entirely on Trunks and his explosive moveset. Have a look, its quite the spectacle:

You can expect to see Dragon Ball FighterZ in early 2018 on the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, though no specific release date has been revealed just yet. If you would like to give it a try ahead of time, and if you own a console, the registrations for the Closed Beta will begin on July 26th. There has been no mention of a PC beta, but hopefully one will follow in the near future as well.
