Despite being flawed in quite a few ways Destiny has gained a rather massive fanbase over the years. As such, it was only a matter of time before other studios decided to try their hands at the formula in order to see if they can recreate the same sort of success.

The first major challenger so far is BioWare's Anthem - a co-op action-RPG that's all about shooting a whole bunch of enemies while wearing what is essentially Iron Man suits. It might not sound like the most original thing in the world, but if the relatively recent gameplay trailer is any judge it does appear to be quite enjoyable. Have a look, but just try to ignore the 'best friends' over-acting every bit of the gameplay:

While I find it amusing to compare Anthem with Destiny, I am also genuinely happy there are more of these types of games now coming out. If you're on the PC there really aren't that many action games you can play in co-op that also don't involve some sort of competitive aspect, so games like Anthem are more than welcome in my book.

If you would like to learn more I would suggest heading over to the official website, but don't expect to find much as BioWare is being a bit tight on the details. As for the release date, you can expect to see Anthem on both PC and consoles in the Fall of 2018, though no specific date has been announced just yet.
