Starbound Update Brings Improvements To Combat System, New Weapons, NPCs And More
- By Ash

It feels like forever ago (in Internet years anyway) that Starbound launched in Early Access and while I've seen it updated many times, the patches never excited me enough to reinstall the game.
Today's patch is different story however. With the addition of new monsters and weapons, as well as a big rework of the combat system, Starbound is once again back on my radar. Here's what's being added:
Overwatch Will Not Have Paid Heroes Or Maps | Developer Update

These short developer updates are one of the best things Blizzard has decided to do in recent times. It always feels good knowing the developers understand your concerns and have plans to do something about them because even if it takes a while at least the complaints aren't falling on deaf ears.
And the same thing applies with the recently released Overwatch developer update (embedded below) where Jeff Kaplan, game director for Overwatch, briefly goes over recent hot topics and gives nice, concise answers.
Update On The Nexus Mods Security Issues

If you don't know what I'm talking about and want the full story head over to this article I've done yesterday, but long story short there was reasonable suspicion that Nexus Mods may have had a security breach and that user passwords were in danger.
Luckily, the problem was much smaller than expected though there was a security breach back in 2013. So if you haven't changed your password since July 22nd 2013 make sure you do so as soon as possible, even though it doesn't appear that anyone has gained anything of value out of the stolen database. If you're interested in specifics read on.
The Binding Of Isaac: Afterbirth+ Update Is Going To Add Mod Support As Well As More Items & Enemies

I've said a lot of good things about Afterbirth in my The Binding Of Isaac: Afterbirth Review and now, after playing it for a month longer, I'm even happier with my purchase. It took everything I loved about Rebirth and built something great upon its foundations.
But just making a really good game wasn't enough apparently because the Afterbirth+ update has been announced, bringing with it mod support, new items, new enemies, a bestiary and a few features they didn't want to reveal just yet.
System Shock 3 Has Been Announced

That's it, that is literally the whole announcement. I wish I was joking but that's the extent of the information we know about System Shock 3 right now.
The one thing we do know is that its being made by Otherside Entertainment whom you might recognize from their successful Ultima Ascendant Kickstarter. While the company itself is relatively new they do have a bunch of developers that worked on the old Ultima and, you guessed it, System Shock games so if there's anyone that understands what makes System Shock 2 so good its probably going to be these guys.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Will Be Episodic | Uses Unreal Engine

[Update #2]: It took a while, but the enhanced version of the Final Fantasy VII Remake has now landed onto PC!
[Update]: Final Fantasy VII Remake's newest TGS trailer is looking downright gorgeous!
First of all, the Final Fantasy VII remake is so far only slated to arrive on the PS4 but given that every other Final Fantasy game seems to be transitioning to PC I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that FFVII will as well and that the PS4 exclusivity is most likely a temporary thing.
With that said, Final Fantasy VII was confirmed during the recent PSX to be using the Unreal Engine 4 (to great effect if the trailer is any judge) and in a subsequent interview stated that it will be released in an episodic format.
Fallout 4 - Update 1.2 Is Now Out | Mods Are Disabled On Game Launch

- in News
When I did my Fallout 4 review I mentioned how I didn't really have any performance issues, and that is still true, but since then I've got a fair few messages telling me how the game suffers from massive FPS drops and random crashes.
The good news is that Update 1.2 is bringing in a bunch of fixes for those problems, the bad news however is that it also breaks mod support - though there is a workaround I'll detail below. Here's what's being changed:
