Sleepy Sheep Insomnia Sale is now live with plenty of deals

The Sleepy Sheep Insomnia Sale, besides being the catchiest way of naming the extraction of money from my wallet, is an event where a brand new game constantly goes on sale with limited quantities available, thus forcing you to compete against other players for the glory of the discount god, for his savings be many.

As you can imagine, the games tend to flash by rather quickly, but there are definitely some amazing deals to be snapped up. The Witcher 3, one of the best open world RPGs ever made has briefly made its appearance at $25, as has Divinity: Original Sin and many others.

The Division update 1.0.2 is going live soon

Ubisoft Massive, the team behind The Division, has shown great dedication towards their game by releasing high quality patches throughout the beta tests that directly targeted the most common player complaints, and it seems that the trend is continuing in to the release version as well.

The upcoming Update 1.0.2 is aiming to fix numerous bugs and glitches, improve the overall Dark Zone experience and most importantly, correct some of the annoying connection issues that popped up recently. Here are the patch notes:

Blizzard Has Released An Overwatch Animated Short Titled 'Recall'

Overwatch animated short Recall is rather good

Blizzard's team that handles cinematics has produced some of the finest scenes in gaming history, so you bet I was intrigued when I saw that they just released an 8 minute long animated short. While it does have a few issues, they certainly did not disappoint.

The video follows the simian scientist Winston as he wrestles with the decision to recall the agents of Overwatch back in to active duty, a course of action that is highly illegal, yet potentially necessary. Here's the video, enjoy!

Brutal Doom 64 is in the works

After finishing work on an entire new campaign for Brutal Doom, SGtMarkIV has now turned his attention to one of Doom's most famous ports, the Nintendo 64 one.

The goal is to revitalize the GZDoom port of Doom 64 with new special effects, particles, lightning, and tons of completely unnecessary, yet oddly satisfying gore and gibs. Its still early in development, but a short gameplay video was released a few days ago, have a look:

The Count Lucanor is a charming and well written horror adventure game

The Count Lucanor is a charming pixel adventure that takes place in a equally lovely fantasy land, but as it so often happens, darkness lurks beneath the seemingly perfect veneer and soon enough you will get roped in to a mystery of the most horrific kind.

It released a couple of weeks ago, on March 3rd to be exact, with some great reviews backing it up, but has unfortunately somehow escaped the public's eye. So allow me to showcase you The Count Lucanor, starting with the trailer:

Microsoft Has Released Quantum Break's Soundtrack For Free

Quantum Break Soundtrack/OST released

With Quantum Break coming on April 5th you would expect that the free release of its soundtrack would be something heavily advertised, but despite me being subscribed to nearly every newsletter known to man, demon and Krogan, today's the first time I've run across it.

Which is a real shame since the soundtrack serves as excellent background noise while you're doing important work, as I've found out... well, besides the important work part. You can check it out on Microsoft Studio's Soundcloud page.

The Original Pitch For Diablo 1 Contained Plans For Microtransactions

Diablo 1 original pitch contained microtransactions

David Brevik, co-founder of Blizzard North and one of the leading forces behind Diablo 1 and Diablo 2, released a rather unique piece of gaming history, the original pitch for Diablo 1.

While that would be interesting enough on its own, given how influential Diablo has become to the ARPG genre, what caught my eye is the team's plan to sell "small additional purchases to revitalize their existing game", or what we these days call microtransactions. Here's the full quote:
