Bannerman Is An Upcoming Side-Scrolling Medieval Action-Adventure
- By Ash
- in Indie Games
Bannerman is a medieval action-adventure with challenging combat, rotoscoped 16-bit visuals and a character who seems content to simply stroll along the battlefield at a leisurely pace.
It is being made by a solo developer and aims to explore the darker side of medieval fantasy, one without knights in shining armor and camaraderie between battle-brothers. Here's the trailer and a bit more information, though do be warned, the music will be stuck in your head for far longer than you might expect:

After the recent combat overview, where Orks ruthlessly smashed a bunch of disorganized humans, the Total War: Warhammer team is back once again, this time around giving us a glimpse at the Dwarven campaign.
While this video doesn't feature any combat it does showcase the technological and economic prowess of the noble, and incredibly stubborn, Dwarves of Kazar-a-Karak. Have a look:

- in News
After investing far too many hours in to The Division open beta my main issue with the game was how quickly you could blow through the content and how limited the arsenal seemed to be.
If you share similar concerns you'll be delighted to hear that according to itsgamerdoc from Reddit The Division is set to launch with 26 missions and 138 weapons to toy around with. Here's a short overview of what exactly was found:
Skywind - A Recreation Of Morrowind In The Skyrim Engine - Is Progressing Along Nicely

There are many community projects out there these days, everything ranging from the naively overambitious to the well organized, planned and focused ones. While Skywind, a recreation of Morrowind in the Skyrim engine, certainly has some divine ambitions it is also one of the most well run and community friendly projects I've seen in a long time.
I'm mentioning it now because the developers recently showcased their progress through the fourth in a series of official developer videos, this time around focusing on the graphics, modeling, voice acting and a few more topics. Have a look, it might surprise you how much better they've made some parts of Skyrim look:

[Update #2]: The long wait is now finally over - Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord has now arrived onto Steam Early Access!
With the PC Gamer Weekender event officially underway we've finally received a glimpse at the much anticipated medieval ARPG, Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord.
The footage might not have been filmed with the best of cameras, or microphones for that matter, but the video Youtuber "Lê Ngọc Thuận" posted should give you an idea of what sort of direction Bannerlord is taking the series in. Take a look:
[Update]: Both of the videos have been taken down for seemingly no reason. As such I'm afraid the whole "30 minutes of gameplay" part of the title is no longer valid, but I can at least share with you one of the most recent gameplay previews. It's about 13 minutes long and should give you a pretty good idea of what Bannerlord looks like in-game. Enjoy!

Path of Exile is, in my humble opinion, the best ARPG out there and with the recently released Ascendancy expansion it has surpassed even its previous heights.
Ascendancy brought with it a daily randomized dungeon, a rework of the already massive and complex skill tree, new ascendancy classes, plenty of new skills, support gems and so much more. Here's the trailer, just in case you missed it, along with my first impressions of the new content:

During the recent combat update/showcase for Kingdom Come: Deliverance I mentioned that the much anticipated medieval RPG is aiming for a summer 2016 release on the PC, with console versions to follow suit at a later date.
However, with the closed beta now in full swing the developers have come out and confirmed the rumors that the release of the PC version will be delayed. The reason why can be found in an interview Eurogamer did with PR manager Tobias Stolz-Zwiling about a week ago, here's the quote:
