The Banner Saga 2 is releasing on April 19

The Banner Saga is one of those games that I really enjoy, mostly because of the choice-driven narrative, but it sure did have a fair number of flaws, especially in terms of how annoying the combat could sometimes be.

With The Banner Saga 2 just around the corner, and the developers rather receptive of player feedback, its going to be interesting to see how the story progresses, but most importantly, how the updated gameplay will shape up. Here's the launch trailer, and a list of features that you can expect to see in The Banner Saga 2:

Overwatch developer talks about the competitive mode features

Despite it sometimes causing a 'massive outrage', I'm still grateful Jeff Kaplan, Game Director for Overwatch, takes the time to communicate the team's plans with the Overwatch community.

In a recent Developer Update he detailed how exactly Overwatch will support competitive play, how long the seasons will be, and most importantly, what sort of shiny loot will players get for participating. Here's the video, and a brief summary of what I believe are the key points:

Nostalrius Beings, the biggest private WoW server, is being shut down

I was privileged to be a member of the generation that grew up with World of Warcraft, and despite the Vanilla/Burning Crusade days being long since over, they still hold a special place in my heart, as do all the people I've spent countless hours in 40-man Naxxramas with.

So it is with great sorrow that I'm here to tell you that Nostalrius Begins, the biggest and best private Vanilla WoW server, is being shut down on April 10 due to a cease & desist letter from Blizzard.

Hitman's update 1.03 adds 10 new challenge missions for Paris

Over the course of the month the Paris level has been available, Hitman players have electrocuted, chandeliered, and poisoned their way across an entire mansion's worth of content, but eventually there comes a point where you've done everything you can in a single level, and require something a bit more fresh.

This is where Hitman's Update 1.03 comes in to play as it brings in numerous bug and balance fixes, but also 10 brand new "Vampire Magician' challenges to give you something to do before the next episode, Sapienza, arrives on April 26.

Rock Band 4's PC crowdfunding campaign has failed

The Fig campaign for the PC version of Rock Band 4 started out incredibly strong by gathering well over a hundred thousand dollars during the initial reveal, an unsurprising amount given that it was a massive, once-popular franchise that never had a PC installment.

Unfortunately, its crowdfunding campaign has failed miserably by only reaching slightly past the halfway point with $792,817 raised across 1,674 backers, a far cry from its lofty $1,500,000 goal. So what exactly went wrong?

Quantum Break 'Punishes' Pirates With An In-Game Eye Patch

Quantum Break pirate copies get saddled with an eye patch

It seems that Remedy has continued on with their tradition of poking fun at pirates by slapping all illegal copies of Quantum Break with a rather spiffy eye patch.

Thankfully, you don't actually have to download a pirate copy of Quantum Break and crack the currently unbeatable Denuvo DRM in order to plunder your way through time, simply logging out of the Windows Store before starting the game is good enough to trick it in to thinking that you're a big bad pirate, as discovered by disastrom.
