I don't think this news comes as much of a shock to many of you, but with various other Final Fantasy games either officially coming (such as FFIX), or rumored to be in the works (FFX &X-2), its not that far of a stretch to imagine that the long awaited FFXV might make its way to PC as well.

Unfortunately, that is not the case as a recent Engadget article/interview revealed that Final Fantasy XV is currently not being developed for PC. On the positive side, the team is open to the idea and will put it under heavy consideration once they finally go through with the console launch. Here are the quotes from the interview:

PC players, you're out of luck -- for now. FFXV director Hajime Tabata told Engadget that the studio isn't currently working on a PC version of the game. But, Tabata said he was "aware of the big call for a PC version."

"Unfortunately we weren't able to do simultaneous development on a PC and console version for XV," he said. "We had to focus on the console version and our goal was to maximize, optimize everything for the HD consoles. Once that's done, then we will definitely take a good, hard look at PC and what we need to do, and consider all our options. But right now we aren't decided, we're still considering a lot of things.

While its nowhere near official confirmation, I'm pretty confident in saying that Final Fantasy XV will eventually make its way to the PC. The differences between consoles and PCs have grown smaller and smaller over the years, and with plenty of money to be earned on a Steam release of FFXV its very likely that the project will be green-lit a couple of months after the post-release madness subsides.

For those of you that own consoles, Final Fantasy XV will be releasing on September 30. It might seem like a long wait when you consider we've just entered April, but some have been waiting for the damn thing to arrive for the better part of a decade now, so its all a matter of perspective.
