Rocket League's Hoops update has released a day early

Rocket League's basketball themed update was supposed to come out on April 26, but apparently it was released an entire day early, and much to my shame I've managed to completely miss it.

Thankfully, patches aren't well known for running away (they're mostly about kicking people down holes), so if you're like me and managed to somehow remain oblivious to the Hoops update, here are the patch notes:

GOG's bundleopolis sale is now available

I hope you aren't particularly attached to your wallet as the latest 'Bundleopolis' sale from GOG seems to be one of the better ones they've done in recent months, with plenty of games spanning numerous genres to chose from, and most importantly, generous discounts to go along with it.

The theme this time around is bundles, and as you might imagine it involves purchasing themed packs such as the 'Fallout Bunker' which gives access to all three of the oldschool Fallout games, 'The X Junction' which carries with it four games from the classic X series, and so forth.

Hearthstone's Whispers Of The Old Gods Expansion Has Finally Been Unleashed In Europe

Whispers of the Old Gods are now available in Europe

After forcing us to endure the cruel and unusual punishment of watching fellow players from the Americas enjoy numerous C'thun filled hours of Hearthstone, Blizzard has finally and triumphantly unleashed the Whispers of the Old Gods upon the EU servers... after which they promptly crashed...

Thankfully they are now back, and after encountering exactly zero playful sprites despite opening 30 packs I would say that they are currently in a stable, and most importantly, playable state!

John Romero Has Released Another Modern Level For The Oldschool Doom

John Romero has released a new Doom WAD (level)

Back in January John Romero released a brand new level for Doom after not touching the game for nearly 20 years, and from what I can remember of it, many asses were kicked.

And now, despite spending who knows how many hours a day working on his Blackroom Kickstarter, he's released his second 'modern' Doom level that follows up on the first and showcases the "kind of classic FPS gameplay" he's promising with Blackroom. As for the story, here's the brief blurb that comes with the instructions:

  • Doom

A Dozen Action-Packed Minutes Of 'Shadow Warrior 2' Gameplay Have Been Released

Shadow Warrior 2 12 minutes of gameplay

The modern Shadow Warrior was a surprisingly enjoyable game for me, even when you account for an overuse of Wang-based puns, simply because the action was unrelenting, and most importantly, visceral.

And from what I'm seeing in the recently released 'A Dozen Hot Minutes of Action' gameplay video, that trend is going to continue, but this time around with even more action, and even bigger wangs, and I wish that was a simple capitalization error. Have a look, and if you want to skip straight to all of the slaughter go to around 2 minutes:

Blizzard has responded to the Nostalrius petition

After the petition for Legacy World of Warcraft servers reached 230,000 signatures, and even got the ex Vanilla WoW Team Lead to join in, it became obvious to Blizzard that this one isn't going to blow over anytime soon.

And in a complete contrast to the utter silence they usually employ when it comes to dealing with the WoW playerbase, Blizzard actually released an official statement which you can read here:

Dota 2's Massive 6.87 Update Has Arrived With Some Heavy Buffs To Melee Heroes

Dota 2 Patch 6.87 has been released

After watching the Dota 2 community collectively lose their sanity and go full-on meme mode, Icefrog finally took mercy and unleashed the much anticipated patch 6.87 in to the great wilds of the test live servers.

From my initial reading of the patch notes it seems that this is going to be one hell of an update for melee heroes, those that hate the currently overpowered flavor of the month, Invoker players who will finally be able to actually pick their favorite hero, and most importantly, for those that like item diversity.
