Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has been announced

After numerous rumors about the next Call of Duty heading into space we now have an official confirmation as Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has just been announced, and it features prominently a whole fleet of starships.

As you might expect from a Call of Duty game, there is a trailer filled with explosions, overly powerful and infinitely funded villains, starships explosions, and even a couple of mechs which unfortunately don't explode. Have a look:

Even though I'm clearly not the target audience as I haven't been interested in the Call of Duty series for a quite a few years now, its still refreshing to see them move from the generic modern military setting into one that at least offers the possibility of weapons that are completely 'out there'. Another point going in Infinite Warfare's favor is the inclusion of robots, mech-suits, and starships which should make for some rather exciting multiplayer matches if implemented well. Hopefully something like the space-based Assault mission from Unreal Tournament 2004, now that thing was amazing!

Whatever the case may be we'll find out on November 4 when Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare finally releases.

Furthermore, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remaster has been officially confirmed as well. It will contain the campaign and 10 maps from the multiplayer mode, though more information that that is currently unavailable as the FAQ seems to be down for the count.
