Fallout Shelter, the massively popular mobile base-building game, has now made its transition to PC as a part of Update 1.6.

Besides becoming available on a brand new platform, Fallout Shelter now sports a new combat system that lets you send your vault dwellers out on a variety of quests, as well as a whole bunch of new characters, locations and enemies to mess around with. Here's a brief trailer to give you a rundown on all these new features:

Conarium, a Lovecraftian horror-adventure, is set to arrive in early 2017

Zoetrope Interactive, the folks behind the Darkness Within series, have announced that they are working on a brand new horror-adventure by the name of Conarium. If you're like me and you're now stuck wondering what that word even means, its apparently used to describe a pine-cone shaped gland that produces Melatonin, a hormone that helps regulate sleep.

While I'm not sure if little description is relevant to the game itself, I can tell you that Conarium will follow the story of Frank Gilman, an antropologist from the Miskatonic University who attempted to pass beyond the limits of human consciences by using a device called, you guessed it, the Conarium. The details on what exactly happened when the device was activated are left up to the players to discover, but there are some heavy hints pointing towards the fact that you may have been killed and then returned... subtly changed.

Here's the official list of features and a couple of images to hopefully give you an idea of what to expect from Conarium once it finally releases in Q1 2017:

Valve has finally started cracking down on Steam powered gambling websites

Unless you've somehow managed to avoid almost all gaming-related news sources for the past few weeks, you've probably heard about the whole CS:GO Lotto mess. In short, a couple of popular CS:GO Youtubers have been found gaming the system (ie. cheating) in order to positively promote a betting website they owned, all the while disclosing absolutely nothing about the whole ordeal.

While the legality of such an act is questionable, mostly because the laws surrounding gambling with "totally not real money" are still a bit shakey, the morality of such an act is quite reprehensible given that children form the majority of the audience for these types of CS:GO gambling videos. Thankfully, it appears that Valve has finally awoken from their slumber and are now taking steps to hopefully get ride of these gambling websites, once and for all. Here's the full quote from their recent announcement:

Creative Assembly has been teasing the Beastmen as a playable race for a couple of days now, but unfortunately for them their playerbase is a bit overzealous when it comes down to hunting even the tiniest of clues.

In other words, someone has already managed to not only unearth the hidden cinematic trailer, but also a bit of information on the DLC itself. First things first, here's the trailer showcasing the half-human aberrations in battle against some poor Empire soldiers:

Necropolis, an action-orientated roguelike, has landed on Steam

Necropolis gameplay screenshot featuring multiple players

Necropolis is a third-person action roguelike that features a challenging combat system, a giant dungeon to delve, and most excitingly, the ability to roam around with up to three other friends. While you won't see this mentioned on any of the official descriptions, Necropolis is inspired by Dark Souls in many ways, so expect to do a lot of dodging around, parrying, and getting slammed face first into the ground when you fail to do just that.

If you're wondering what Necropolis looks like, and more importantly what's it all about, here's a surprisingly funky official trailer:

Evolve has recently gone free-to-play as a part of the Stage 2 Update

Evolve's hunter characters

[Update]: Four years after the big shut down, Evolve: Stage 2's multiplayer servers have turned back on!

Evolve was a game with a tremendous amount of potential behind it. A truly asymmetric multiplayer game where you not only got to hunt down giant beasts, but also play as them and use all of your cunning and trickery in order to turn the tables on the hunters! What could go wrong?

Unfortunately for Evolve, the answers to that question were quite numerous and ranged from DLC complaints to balance issues that took far too long to solve, all of which slowly resulted in the playerbase packing their backpacks and migrating to greener pastures. Now that Evolve has gone free-to-play as a part of the Stage 2 Update a new question arises: has it managed to improve enough to warrant a second try?

First of all, however, here's the announcement trailer to give you an idea of what to expect:
