If you're like me and you spent the past few days living comfortably under a rock, you might be interested to hear that Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III has now arrived on Steam. And much like the vast majority of Warhammer 40,000 games out there it appears to be a mixed bag in terms of quality.
But before we move onto that, here's the recently posted launch trailer to hopefully let you know what Dawn of War 3 is all about. Unfortunately, due to all the weird cuts and angles you'll probably not going to get much information on the gameplay itself, but it should at least give you a general idea of what sort of RTS Dawn of War 3 is. The latest Overwatch update has finally fixed Genji's long-standing Dragonblade bugs
- By Ash
- in News
Besides Roadhog and his magnificent hook, Genji has seen the most bugs and issues out of any Overwatch hero to date. His wall climb is unreliable and often fails for no reason, reflect occasionally lets damage go through so you can actually die and kill the enemy with the same bullet that killed you, and best of all, the Dragonblade has a long-standing tradition of showing a hit animation, hit sound, and hit marker, but not actually doing any damage. Add to this the recent bug that made Genji's sword swings randomly slow down and you've got yourself an extremely fun character that is also plagued with some extremely annoying issues!
Well, while the wall climb and reflect still remain a problem, you will be extremely glad to hear that the two Dragonblade bugs have now finally been fixed! The recent update has also brought with it some much needed changes to how the Assault and Assault/Escort maps work, as well as a brand new aiming technique for those of you that use controllers. You can find the full patch notes over at the Blizzard website, but here's the important stuff:

If you've never played Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard's take on the ridiculously popular MOBA genre, now would be the time to do so. Heroes of the Storm 2.0 recently arrived with a new progression system that closely mirrors the one from Overwatch, Genji as a new playable hero, Hanamura as a new battlefield, and even a bunch of skins and goodies you can unlock for both Overwatch and Heroes of the Storm.
You'll find all of the details, and there is a lot of them, by heading over to the official website. But for now, here's the recently posted and rather fancy trailer showcasing not only Hanamura, but also Genji and D.Va! Have a look:
Snake Pass Gameplay Showcase - First two levels [No Commentary]

- in Gameplay Showcase
Snake Pass is a colorful and charming 3D platformer with a bit of a unique twist. Instead of constantly jumping around and stomping on enemies with your butt you play as an adorable 'little' snake called Noodle, with all of the advantages and disadvantages that form brings. You can slither alongside walls, extend your body in order to reach far away places, coil around bamboo in order to easily climb large surfaces, and also slide straight into a bottomless pit because getting used to realistic 'snaking around' takes a bit of time.
If you're wondering whether this is a platformer you might enjoy, and whether the whole 'being a snake' thing is anything more than a simple gimmick, allow me to show you some commentary-free gameplay from the first two levels and you can hopefully decide from there. Have a look:
Detailed guide for World of Warcraft's Mage Tower challenge - Closing the Eye (Archmage Xylem)
- By Ash
- in News
[Update]: As a part of Update 9.1.5 Blizzard will be bringing back the Mage Tower challenges.
The Mage Tower is a brand new addition to World of Warcraft that arrived with the recent Patch 7.2. While its active it offers a variety of minor benefits such hidden chests full of goodies and additional artifact power, and most importantly of all, the ability to undergo an extremely difficult trial in order to unlock class and specialization exclusive weapon skins. As you can probably guess from the title alone, the challenge I will be guiding you through is called "Closing the Eye", in which you will have to defeat not only Archmage Xylem, but his demonic master as well!
If you would like to try and obtain one of these fancy new cosmetics it is important that you understand that the Mage Tower Challenge is exactly what the name entails - a challenge. If you think you're going to beat it in a single attempt, or even a dozen attempts, I'm afraid you're in for a rude awakening. That said, it is not impossible, and if you come prepared chances are high you will be able to complete it just fine. So if you willing to do what it takes to look downright awesome, allow me to give you a helping hand and hopefully make your journey just a little bit easier.

The latest Total War: Warhammer 2 developer diary offers a look at the Great Vortex, and a brief teaser for the Skaven

Total War: Warhammer 2 has been announced a couple of weeks ago with a rather fancy cinematic trailer. In the video the three currently revealed factions (High Elves, Dark Elves, and Lizardmen) are all fighting to control the Great Vortex, but if you're not a long-time fan of the Warhammer universe chances are you have absolutely no idea why a bunch of blue wind is worth risking the lives of an entire civilization.
If you would like to find out, and also see what the developers are planning to do with the Great Vortex in terms of gameplay, you'll find the recently posted developer diary right below. Its a fairly short video, totaling only at 3 minutes, so I would definitely recommend you give it a look and hopefully start exploring the fascinating world of Warhammer. But enough rambling from me, here's the video:
