Destiny 2 has three new trailers that go over the story, the worlds we'll explore, and the role of clans

The characters from Destiny 2 on the official cover

Destiny 2 has been announced a little while ago, after which we have received only tiny little trickles of information. As such, I am happy to say that Bungie has recently posted three decently lengthy videos that go over the story and some of its characters, the worlds we'll get to explore, and the role of clans in Destiny 2.

Since the story in Destiny 1 was complete and utter nonsense its probably a good idea to start with what exactly Destiny 2 does to correct that problem. So here are the three videos, starting with the story and ending with the role of clans:

Neverwinter developers are working on a massive Magic: The Gathering RPG

Magic: The Gathering Duels of the Planeswalkers artwork official

You might not expect this from a 'simple' card game, but Magic: The Gathering has quite an extensive and intriguing lore behind it. Combine that with its insane popularity and presence in nearly every hobby store, and it was only a matter of time before someone decided to create a proper RPG set in the Magic: The Gathering universe.

The upcoming and currently unnamed AAA Magic: The Gathering RPG will be headed by Cryptic Studios, developers you might know from their work on the Neverwinter MMO. There is unfortunately no information about what this RPG is going to play or look like, but according to the quotes that came with the press release it seems to be shaping up as a high-budget action RPG.

The upcoming vampire themed RPG Vampyr has a new and extremely atmospheric cinematic trailer

Vampyr is an upcoming vampire themed RPG from Dontnod, the developers you might know from their work on Life is Strange and Remember Me. Rather than be a simple vampire RPG where you slaughter hordes upon hordes of humans, Vampyr is going to come with a bit of a conundrum for the players to solve. On one hand you are a bloodthirsty demon of the night that needs to feed on human blood in order to survive, but on the other you're a doctor that needs to somehow deal with a plague that's sweeping through the entirety of London. Focus too much on saving the city and you might find yourself extremely weak due to starvation, but feed too much on your fellow man and you might just give rise to an organized militia whose aim is to hunt down all of the vampires.

While the recently posted E3 trailer does not explore this topic in-depth, it does an extremely good job of setting up the atmosphere and mood for Vampyr. So if you don't mind cinematic trailers without a shred of gameplay I would suggest you give this one a look as its quite intriguing. Here it is:

Edmund McMillen's upcoming hardcore platformer The End Is Nigh is set to arrive in July

If you're a fan of Super Meat Boy, or other such brutal platformers, you might want to pay attention to The End is Nigh. Its all about jumping around in a gigantic and extremely hostile world, dying a whole bunch of times before you figure out how to beat the level, and feeling like an absolute badass when you finally succeed. In many ways you can consider The End is Nigh a sort of spiritual successor to Super Meat Boy, though it definitely has a life of its own.

Since Edmund McMillen's games have quite a unique art style it would probably be a good idea for you to check out the recently posted teaser trailer. Just keep in mind that the first minute or so is just an introduction, so don't immediately close the video if the game on display seems a bit generic. Have a look:

Middle-earth: Shadow of War's latest trailer is a brief showcase of what the story is all about

Middle-earth: Shadow of War's Balrog screenshot

Shadow of War is the upcoming sequel to the much-decorated Shadow of Mordor. It brings with it a new and expanded Nemesis system, the ability to siege castles with your personal army of Orcs and beasts, followers that can help you out throughout your missions, but also a whole batch of new enemies including the Nazgûl, and oddly enough a Barlog!

If you're wondering what sort of narrative connects all of these things together, wonder no more as the developers have released a brief story trailer showcasing just that. The video feature a couple of important characters from the lore, so even though the story itself is described in an extremely basic way you might want skip the first 30 seconds or so if you're really strict about spoilers. With that little disclaimer now out of the way, here's the video:

  • Shadow of Mordor 2

Sonic Mania has a new gameplay trailer showcasing the improved Chemical Plant zone

Sonic Mania is an upcoming 2D Sonic game designed to be as close to the original as possible, while also bringing in some interesting innovations of its own. The most important of these is the improved map design, which for the original Sonic games was a bit lackluster given how many platforming sections required you to move at a snail's pace in a game designed around ridiculous speeds.

If you're wondering what these improvements might look like in gameplay terms, wonder no more as the developers have released a trailer showcasing the new and improved Chemical Plant zone - one of the most annoying areas from the originals. The changes, as you'll see, are pretty damn awesome! Have a look:

CD Projekt Red has announced that some Cyberpunk 2077 files have been stolen, so beware of spoilers

Official artwork for Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt Red is either extremely unlucky, or has someone working against them from the inside. A couple of years ago The Witcher 3's script and quest details got released in a massive leak, and now we have the same thing happening with Cyberpunk 2077, though with the added twist that CDPR is also being blackmailed by whoever stole the data.

For obvious reasons CDPR is not going to accept the demand for ransom, so be prepared for an eventual leak as it could contain massive story spoilers. Mind you, all of this is from an early version of Cyberpunk 2077 and as such is "largely unrepresentative of the current vision for the game", but even still its best to avoid reading the leaks as it could potentially ruin your playthrough.
