The infamous oldschool platformer Bubsy is being resurrected through Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back

For those of you that might not know, the Bubsy series pretty much went extinct after Bubsy 3D - perhaps the very worst 3D platformer ever crated by a professional studio. And no, I am not exaggerating when I say that given that I am one of the few idiots that bought it back in the day. It really is as atrocious as people say!

As such, I am both surprised and somewhat happy to announce that the Bubsy series is being resurrected through the newly announced Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back. However, instead of being a continuation of the 3D series, The Woolies Strike Back is going to be based around the original 2D platformers. If you're wondering what all of this might look like, here's the recently posted teaser trailer:

The release date for Kingdom Come: Deliverance has been revealed alongside a new story trailer

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an upcoming medieval open-world RPG that aims to be as realistic and faithful to the era as possible. What this means is that there is no magic to cast, no giant dragons to fight, just a massive civil war and a whole bunch of angry knights and peasants at both sides.

After teasing a big reveal for a couple of days now the Kingdom Come: Deliverance devs have finally released the story trailer along with a confirmed release date. But first things first, if you're wondering what exactly Kingdom Come is going to be about, and what is your character's motivation to become involved in the civil war, here's the recently posted trailer that highlights just that:

The first act of Dota 2's Siltbreaker co-op campaign has now arrived for Battle Pass owners

Dota 2 Siltbreaker campaign artwork

The Siltbreaker co-op campaign was supposed to arrive in late May, but since this is Valve we're talking about it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hear that it ended up being delayed. Thankfully the delay was rather brief, about nine days in total, so as far as waiting goes it isn't that big of a deal.

With the first act of the co-op campaign now live you might be wondering what exactly its all about, and whether its worth grabbing the Battle Pass for the story alone. If you're in it for the narrative then the Siltbreaker campaign is completely worthless since it barely features any story, and what little it does is completely irrelevant to the Dota 2 universe at large. As for the gameplay itself, its most similar to the RPG custom games from Warcraft 3. What I mean by this is that its extremely hard, requires previous knowledge in order to avoid instant-death traps, but also quite compelling as you get to see your characters grow from complete push-overs to nigh-unstoppable demigods.

The Castlevania inspired Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night now has a brand new gameplay trailer

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night official logo and artwork

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a Castlevania inspired action-platformer headed by Koji Igarashi, a veteran designer with quite a few Castlevania games under his belt. After the extremely successful $5,545,991 Kickstarter we have seen very little of Bloodstained, but if the recently posted gameplay trailer is any indicator I have feeling that is going to change in the near future as Bloodstained appears to be in the final stages of development.

As for the recently posted teaser trailer, you'll find it right below. It showcases pretty much everything from random running around to a full-on boss fight, so it should give you a good overview of what Bloodstained is trying to accomplish. Have a look:

You can grab a free copy of Payday 2 on Steam for a "limited time only"

Payday 2 Deathwish update artwork

Payday 2 will soon be getting an Ultimate Edition that will bundle all of the DLC into one much more manageable, and much cheaper package. The Ultimate Edition will cost $45 at launch, and will be further reduced in price by the amount of DLC you own, so if you're like and you spent way too much money on map packs you'll at least get a sizable discount. The most important thing to keep in mind is that the Ultimate Edition will not completely replace Payday 2, so you don't have to worry about being forced to upgrade unless you care about the already existing DLC.

The reason I mention this in specific is because Overkill is currently giving away Payday 2 for free on Steam. There is absolutely no catch and you don't need to upgrade to the Ultimate Edition down the line in order to keep playing - the game is fully yours! The only thing you need to watch out for is that this promotion will last for "a limited time only", and since Overkill didn't give an end date you might want to grab your copy as soon as possible, or you might just end up missing out.

Minecraft's "The World of Color" Update has now arrived with improvements to all colored blocks

Minecraft's "The World of Color" Update teaser image

Minecraft has just recently been expanded with "The World of Color" Update, bringing with it exactly what you would expect. Pretty much all of the colored blocks have been updated in order to give players a more diverse set of colors to mess around with, and there's now also colored concrete, colored beds, and glazed terracotta for those of you that want to be extra fancy.

Besides the color explosion the update has also brought with it the recipe book and a whole new advancements system. If you're a long-time player chances are this won't affect you very much, but it should be a great help for new players throughout their first adventure. If you're interested in the details, I'm afraid there aren't any, but I can share with you the rather short list of patch notes. Have a look:

Steam Greenlight has been shut down, Steam Direct will be replacing it on June 13th

Steam Greenlight's official logo and artwork

Like most things in human history Steam Greenlight started off with a noble idea: to offer indie developers an easy way to gain an audience and eventually get their game onto Steam's storefront. Again, much like most things in human history Steam Greenlight ended up being a horrific failure once people realized they can game the system and essentially push through unfinished, unpolished, or just straight up copy-pasted 'games'. If you need an example of what exactly I mean, simply try browsing through the low-priced part of the FPS section and see how many times you can spot the exact same jungle map.

As such, I am very glad to say that Valve has now finally shut down Steam Greenlight! If you're a developer that still had a game in Greenlight when the big button was pressed, worry not as Valve will be manually going through all of the games in order to ensure any even remotely good ones get through unscathed. As for any future applications, those will be handled through the upcoming Steam Direct program.
