I haven't been paying much attention to PS3 emulation, but apparently there have been some massive strides forward in the past few years. According to a recent update on Demon's Souls, the somewhat flawed classic that kickstarted the whole Souls genre, the game is now considered fully working and stable, though perhaps not yet fully enjoyable.

If you're currently wondering what exactly that means, you'll find your answers in the recently posted gameplay video showing Demon's Souls running on the RPCS3 emulator. Have a look, its quite impressive:

The PC version of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel JRPG will be coming to Steam next week

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel official artwork

[Update]: Trails of Cold Steel has now made its way to PC, and I'm glad to say it has so far recieved overwhelmingly positive reviews!

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel is a turn-based JRPG with a rather unique idea behind its combat system. Instead of being fully proficient fighters from the get-go, your party will first need to spend some time getting to know each other, as well as bond over various dialogue choices and story events before they are capable of properly supporting each other. So as you get to know your companions better your combined attacks will become increasingly powerful, which I must admit is a rather interesting way to mix combat and storytelling.

If you're wondering what exactly the narrative is even all about, you'll find some of the answers you seek in the story trailer right below. Its not overly detailed, but it will give you a decent idea of just what kind of JRPG you're getting into. Have a look:

The viking themed strategy game Northgard has been updated with a fifth faction - Clan Bear

A relatively short amount of time has passed since the viking themed strategy game Northgard added multiplayer and new combat units, and already the developers have released another major batch of content to play around with. As you can probably guess from the title, the new content comes in the form of Northgard's fifth faction - Clan Bear.

Unlike some of the other factions Clan Bear is not focused on aggression, but rather on resilience and an unbreakable defense. Their food production loss during winter is reduced by 20%, and instead of having reduced power all of their military units gain 10% damage resistance throughout winter. So while they might not be as powerful as the other clans in a straight up battle, you better not underestimate Clan Bear during winter or you're going to quickly regret your mistake!

Even a few years ago it was incredibly hard to find good JRPGs on PC, simply because big publishers didn't believe there was any sort of market for it - a 'fact' they could easily verify by just looking at how few JRPGs the PC has. Thankfully, that cycle of despair is now quickly being broken apart, as you can easily notice by the growing library of Nihon Falcom games on Steam.

Best of all, according to an interview TechRaptor conducted with Nihon Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo the company is aiming to release all of their games (both future and past) on Steam! Here's the full quote:

Bandai Namco's Little Witch Academia action-RPG now has a decently lengthy teaser trailer

Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time is a 3D action-RPG with some beat'em up elements mixed in for good measure. While it will feature a lot of the same characters from the series The Chamber of Time will be its own self-contained storyline, so in theory it should be welcoming to both new players and seasoned fans alike.

If you're wondering what all of this might look like in-game, wonder no more as Bandai Namco has released a decently lengthy trailer showcasing just that. I've never seen the show myself, but I'm pretty sure the first ~30 seconds are not in-game footage, though everything beyond that appears to be the real deal. Oh, and I hope you don't mind the entire trailer being in Japanese! Have a look:

Dreamfall Chapters is a story-driven adventure game with a focus on difficult choices and their far-reaching consequences. The first story chapter arrived all the way back in the ancient times of 2014, while the fifth and final chapter concluded the whole storyline in June, 2016.

Even though the most recent update is not as large as Book 5, it does bring with it some rather significant changes. The artwork has been greatly improved with new and revised character models and lightning, while on the other side of the coin the soundtrack was expanded with new music, the voice-overs remastered, and sound effects cleaned up across the board.

Rise of Industry is a strategic business tycoon that puts you in the shoes of an early 20th century industrialist. In order to succeed you will need to create your vast empire from scratch, always ensuring that all of your interwoven production lines are well supplied and your transportation network fully capable of delivering your goods to nearby towns. But if end up failing spectacularly, worry not as you can try to use your PR companies in order to deflect the blame onto someone else!

You can check out what this looks like in game via the recently posted teaser trailer down below. The whole video is a bit too focused on pointless fluff, but there is enough gameplay to at least give you a brief taste of what Rise of Industry has to offer. Have a look:
