Armored ground vehicle from Star Citizen

Star Citizen's development may be moving at a glacial pace, but to the developer's credit it really is chugging along quite nicely. It was only 'a short while ago' that Star Citizen got updated with an FPS module, and soon we will be getting a whole bunch of new content to explore as well.

The Alpha 3.0 Update will add moon landings and explorable surfaces, a planetary rover so you don't have to moonwalk everywhere, and even perhaps most interestingly of all, an incredibly fast hover-bike! You can check out what some of these features look like in game via the recently posted teaser video, courtesy of PC Gamer. Have a look:

[Update]: Slime-covered yet adorable Slime Rancher 2 is heading into Early Access on September 22, 2022.

Slime Rancher, as you might imagine, is a charming first-person 'farm simulator' where you will have to capture and take care of a variety of adorable little slimes. In many ways it is similar to Harvest Moon, though instead of growing crops and raising chickens in order to make a bit of a profit, you'll be using them to feed your constantly growing repertoire of colorful slime.

It first arrived to Steam Early Access back in early 2016, and after numerous updates and a highly positive review score it appears that Slime Rancher is finally ready to release in full. The launch date is pinned for August 1st, and if you currently have a farm running there's no need to worry, your save file and everything in it will carry over to the full version.

Dying Light zombies at sundown

Given the positive user and critic reviews it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hear that Dying Light is highly successful, but what might come as a surprise is that its so successful it still has over 500,000 players each and every week, 3 years since launch! In order to celebrate this momentous milestone, and most likely lead up to a Dying Light 2 announcement, the developers have just revealed their plans for 10 more pieces of free DLC over the next 12 months.

While the details are still unknown, these DLCs will bring with them new and more challenging enemies to face off against, a variety of interesting events to participate in, new mysteries to uncover, and "much, much more". Most importantly of all, these DLCs won't just be cosmetic fluff - they will be actual content designed to improve Dying Light's longevity. As a simple teaser of things to come, DLC #0 will bring with it new human and zombie enemies in the near future.

The Ni No Kuni series of RPGs has been exclusively available on consoles and portable platforms ever since its inception, but this will thankfully be changing with Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom as it will be coming to PC as well as PS4. The details are still a bit shaky, but you can expect to see an open world full of towns, villages, and dungeons to explore, as well as a whole bunch of overly cutesy enemies to ruthlessly beat up.

If you're wondering what all of this might look like in gameplay terms, wonder no more as the developers have released a rather lengthy gameplay video where they go over pretty much every mechanic and detail. So if you're interested in Ni No Kuni 2, make sure to give the video a look:

Codebyfire, the developers behind Frozen Cortex, and Mode 7 Games, the developers behind Frozen Synapse, have recently announced that they have teamed up in order to create The Colonists - a settlement building game most similar to The Settlers and Anno series. While the details are currently in short supply, you can expect to see The Colonists in Steam Early Access this August.

As for the gameplay itself, you will be taking control of a team of robots tasked with settling and taming a newly-discovered planet, essentially preparing the ground for a wave of colonists that are inbound from the homeworld. You'll have to harvest natural resources, set up farming and food production, reshape the terrain in order to optimize your production lines, and naturally, conquer or ally with any of the locals.

Rift artwork for the Celestial Storm update

The Celestial Storm Update has just arrived to Trion World's MMORPG Rift, bringing with it so much content the developers are comfortable claiming there's "hundreds of hours" of it to explore. There's four new Primalist Souls to play around with, the Vostigar Peaks overland zone to wonder across, a whole bunch of new questlines, all new Raid Rifts, and the list goes on.

You can learn more by heading over to the official website, but do keep in mind that concrete information is a bit hard to find right now. If you just want the short version, however, here's the extremely brief teaser trailer showing off some of the new content:

Sonic Forces has a new trailer showing off the edgiest bad guy the series has ever seen - Infinite

Infinite from the Sonic Forces game

Back in July of 2016 Sega announced that we will be getting two new Sonic games in 2017: one inspired by the original classics, and the other a modern 3D game. The 2D game ended up being Sonic Mania, a seemingly excellent adaptation of the classic Sonic games, while the 3D game has since been revealed as the somewhat silly but still intriguing Sonic Forces.

Over the past few months Sega revealed quite a few gameplay details for Sonic Forces, painting it to be a bit of a spiritual successor to Sonic Colors - a game most Sonic fans can agree on liking. However, they also released a bunch of story-related information and trailers, and these have been about as bizarre as you can possibly imagine. If you're not sure what exactly I'm talking about, I welcome you to check out the recently posted "Enter Infinite" trailer that showcases the new 'big bad'. Have a look:
