Overwatch 2 has just nerfed Doomfist, Sojourn and Tracer, while Roadhog has managed to escape his fate... for now

[Update #2]: Overwatch 2's Lunar New Year 2023 event has now landed alongside Capture the Flag and very little else.

[Update]: Overwatch 2's Battle for Olympus update has arrived with a fun novelty game mode and some truly awful challenges.

As a part of the Season 2 update Overwatch 2 added Ramattra as a brand new tank hero, a new escort map by the name of Shambali Monastery, as well as a whole host of balance changes. While the new content is certainly fun to mess around with, the update was unfortunately a bit of a mess due to some misguided balance tweaks that pushed the power levels of certain heroes to the extreme, while not really doing much to make underplayed heroes like Junker Queen actually useful in competitive play.

In order to sort all of this out, Blizzard has just released a hotfix containing a bunch of new changes! Doomfist, Sojourn, Tracer and Kiriko have received some well deserved nerfs, while Ramattra, Orisa and Ana have all received a couple of small but highly impactful buffs. Without further ado, here's what has been changed:

Darktide has added a new map, two new weapons, private lobbies, crafting improvements, and a bunch of balance changes

[Update #2]: Darktide's Patch 1.02 has now brought in a bunch of small but meaningful balance tweaks, fixes and improvements.

[Update]: Warhammer 40,000: Darktide studio Fatshark are suspending new content, microtransactions and the Xbox version in order to focus on much-needed fixes.

As you've most likely realized yourself, not all weapons in Darktide are created equal. While some like the Veteran's power sword are capable of cleaving through entire hordes without a single issue, others have to expend a considerable amount of time and effort in order to kill even a single poxwalker. So in order to sort this problem out, as well as add some more content for everyone to play around with, Fatshark team has now unleashed Patch 1.0.20.

The highlights include a brand new map by the name of The Signal, as well as a fancy new power maul for the Ogryn and Zealot that literally makes people explode when you charge it up! Whether they're actually good or not, that still remains to be seen, but I can't deny that I've had a lot of fun experimenting with the Zealot's two-handed variant.

Hearthstone's March of the Lich King expansion has added a brand new class - the Death Knight

After refusing to add the fan-favorite Death Knight class for many, many years at this point, Blizzard has finally relented and given the players exactly what they want. As is to be expected, the new Death Knight class brings with it a variety of unique and interesting mechanics to explore, as well as a sizable amount of class cards to help facilitate all of that.

The most exciting new feature are the Runes whose combinations determine which Death Knight cards you can add to your deck. You can choose to devote yourself fully to one Rune in order to really leverage the strength of a certain type of cards, or mix and match in order to create a deck that suits your needs. It's a fairly simple system to understand, yet it offers a great deal of complexity, so I must admit I'm quite a big fan of the idea.

[Update]: MTG Arena is getting fun jank and competitive staples through Historic Anthology 7 and Explorer Anthology 3 on July 18th.

After a few weeks of teasers and previews, MTG Arena has now unleashed two new mini-expansions to mess around with. However, instead of bringing in more Standard cards, the new additions are all about expanding the Explorer and Alchemy formats.

Explorer Anthology 2, just like its predecessor, brings with it 25 Explorer, Pioneer and Historic legal cards to bolster current deck archetypes and perhaps even create entirely new ones. These include powerful format staples like Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and Fiery Impulse, as well as janky, Historic Brawl focused cards like Sliver Hivelord and Kozilek, the Great Distortion. You can check out the full list of inclusions over at the MTG website.

[Update #2]: Overwatch 2's Battle for Olympus update has arrived with a fun novelty game mode and some truly awful challenges.

[Update]: Overwatch 2 has just nerfed Doomfist, Sojourn and Tracer, while Roadhog has managed to escape his fate... for now!

Last week Overwatch 2's Season 2 update arrived with Ramattra as a brand new tank hero, a new escort map by the name of Shambali Monastery, as well as a whole host of balance changes. Unfortunately, while the idea behind the balance tweaks was a noble one, the numerous buffs have ended up creating a far, far bigger problem than what we had before.

So in order to sort this newfound mess out, Blizzard has just announced that there will be a balance update coming later this week. The exact list of changes has not been announced just yet, but you can look forward to Doomfist, Roadhog, Sojourn and Tracer getting nerfed, while the newcomer Ramattra will most likely be getting some major buffs given how weak he currently is.

XCOM studio's super hero flavored turn-based RPG Marvel's Midnight Suns has now landed onto PC and consoles

Marvel's Midnight Suns official artwork for the turn-based RPG

After going through a few rounds of delays, Firaxis Games' turn-based RPG Marvel's Midnight Suns has now finally been unleashed for PC and consoles. However, despite being a tactical turn-based game from the XCOM studio, Marvel's Midnight Suns is by no means a copy of it.

Not only does the combat system utilize cards and combos instead of relying on random rolls, but there's also a much greater focus on storytelling and character interactions. In fact, between all of the various systems and dialogues, there's a good chance you'll spend just as much time managing things and talking to people as you will fighting. So if you're here purely for the turn-based combat, you might end up being somewhat disappointed.

In celebration of its 10th anniversary, the indie classic Little Inferno has now launched its very first expansion

These days indie games are everywhere, and you'd be hard pressed to find a niche that hasn't already been covered by at least a dozen different games. However, back in the early 2010s the gaming landscape was much different, and only the most unique, interesting and lucky indie games managed to punch through the crowd and get noticed.

One of these indie games was Little Inferno, a charming yet satirical adventure where the entire point was to light every single thing you could on fire. Things really didn't get more complex than that, but thanks to the lovely presentation and surprisingly memorable story, Little Inferno ended up being a rather mesmerizing experience.
