Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition update has significantly improved the visuals

[Update]: A brand new update has now added HD models & textures to this classic RPG!

Much like Baldur's Gate, the classic cRPG Neverwinter Nights received an Enhanced Edition upgrade back in 2018. However, while the Enhanced Edition certainly made Neverwinter Nights a lot more pleasant to play on modern machines, it unfortunately did very little to improve the highly dated visuals.

A fair few months have gone by since then, which is why I'm both shocked and pleased to announced that not only has Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition just received a massive new update, but that it has significantly improved the visuals as well! Just take a look at some of the comparison screenshots over at the Beamdog website as the difference in quality is quite staggering!

[Update]: No Man's Sky's Origins update has made planets significantly more unique and interesting to explore!

I have to give credit where credit is due, Hello Games have pushed through all of the negativity surrounding No Man's Sky's original launch and slowly but surely improved upon pretty much everything. They added base building, ground vehicles, a ton of new quests and areas of interest, and most importantly of all, the long-promised multiplayer mode!

The good news doesn't end there, however, as Hello Games have just announced there is even more content just around the corner. While the exact details are still few and far between, the freshly revealed Origins update will be launching at some point next week!

Overwatch experimental update has transformed McCree into a bit of an acrobat

[Update #2]: Overwatch update has brought in some excellent buffs for McCree, Orisa and Roadhog.

[Update]: Overwatch is improving the profanity filter, elevators and Reinhardt's ultimate.

With very low mobility and a heavy reliance on his team for support, the recent DPS nerf really hit McCree hard. Because of this, both his winrate and pickrate have plummeted across all ranks, which is a damn shame given how important his anti-flanker role is to the health of the game.

Thankfully, this will only be a temporary setback for McCree as a new experimental update has just arrived with a nice mobility buff in tow! The update has also beefed up Orisa, Roadhog and Baptiste, as well as given Ashe's dynamite its long-awaited nerf. Here's what exactly is being changed:

MTG Arena's Zendikar Rising expansion has landed with nearly 300 new cards in tow

[Update #2]: MTG Arena's viking themed expansion Kaldheim is launching on January 28, 2021.

[Update]: Two weeks after the previous ban, MTG Arena has now thrown out the dreaded Omnath.

If you're interested in giving MTG Arena a try, or simply looking to come back after a bit of an absence, this might be a pretty good time to do so. Not only has there been a set rotation that has seen four sets (Guilds of Ravnica, Ravnica Allegiance, War of the Spark and Core Set 2020) move from Standard to Historic, but a brand new expansion has just launched with nearly 300 new cards to mess around with!

The focus of the Zendikar Rising expansion is on five core mechanics, some universal and some belonging to specific color combinations. These would be the age-old effects like Mill (enemy discards cards from their library), Kicker (pay extra for extra benefits) and Landfall (effects trigger whenever your land enters the battlefield), as well as new mechanics like Party that require you to have a very D&D-like group of warriors, clerics, rogues and wizards in order to unlock special bonuses.

Despite being announced quite a few years ago, Beyond Good & Evil 2 seems to be just as distant as it ever was. And with Michel Ancel, the man behind the whole series, now leaving the gaming industry, this naturally brought up a fair few concerns about the fate of Beyond Good & Evil 2.

In order to dispel these concerns, as well as let everyone know what's happening, Ubisoft has now released a brief development update. You can find the whole thing over at the Ubisoft website, but for now, here are the most interesting bits:

Dicey Dungeons Update 1.9 has improved mod support, added new rules, and fixed over 200 bugs

[Update]: Three years after launch, Dicey Dungeons has just added a chunky free DLC - Reunion.

If you're a fan of strategy-focused roguelite games, you might want to check out the freshly updated Dicey Dungeons. As the name would suggest, the entire game revolves around dice and dice rolls, to the point that even the main characters themselves are sentient dice! However, while the premise may be wacky, the actual gameplay is remarkably fun and far more tactical than one would expect from a game based on dice rolls.

As for the briefly mentioned update, Version 1.9 has brought with it nine new remix rules to help keep subsequent playthroughs fresh and interesting, including one that allows literally any enemy from the dungeon to appear as a beefed-up boss. The update has also added improved modding support, fixed over 200 bugs, as as well brought in an assortment of quality of life upgrades. So while there might not be a lot of new content here, the various fixes and better modding tools should make for a noticeably better experience regardless.
