Telltale's witty adventure game Sam & Max Save the World has received an HD Remaster

[Update #2]: Sam & Max's third and final season, The Devil's Playhouse, is getting remastered in 2023.

[Update]: Sam & Max's second season Beyond Time and Space is getting an HD remaster this December, 2021.

While Telltale is most famous for their The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us series, they also created some pretty solid games long before that. Chief among these was the Sam & Max series, a collection of hilarious point & click adventure games starring a dog detective and his loud-mouthed rabbit-thing companion.

The reason I'm even mentioning all of this is because the very first season of Sam & Max has just suddenly received an HD remaster! The new version brings with it greatly enhanced graphics, widescreen and gamepad support, new music tracks, plenty of absurd humor, and perhaps most importantly, a 50% discount for the owners of the original.

N1RV Ann-A, sequel to the excellent VA-11 Hall-A, will no longer be releasing in 2020

While its name may be a bit unwieldy, VA-11 Hall-A tells a remarkably engaging cyberpunk story filled with all sorts of wacky characters. So if you're like me and you were hoping to get your hands on the sequel, N1RV Ann-A, I'm afraid I have some bad news.

Not only is N1RV Ann-A continuing the 2020 tradition of being delayed, but it doesn't look like it'll be launching any time soon either as the developers have now set its release date as "when it's done." The reason for this, as is often the case with games that turn out to be hits, is that N1RV Ann-A has grown significantly more ambitious than its predecessor and thus requires a lot more work to fully finish.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is already looking like new and improved version of Vermintide

[Update]: My review for Darktide is now live and, long story short, it's as rough and fascinating as the world it takes place in!

After releasing an absurd amount of content for Vermintide 2, with more still in the works, Fatshark is now also looking to apply their touch to Warhammer 40,000 with the newly unveiled Darktide. Much like its predecessor, Darktide will be a four-player co-op game that's all about mowing down hordes of Chaos fanatics, Nurgle monstrosities, and all sorts of other nonsense that spews forth from the Warp.

As for what exactly all of this looks like in actual gameplay, as well as what sort of characters you'll be able to play as, that you can find out through the recently posted gameplay trailer. Have a gander, it's a pretty fun one:

World of Warcraft devs have revealed the upcoming set of balance changes for Shadowlands

[Update]: The balance update has gone live alongside a few more changes.

Castle Nathria, Shadowlands' very first raid, has only just recently been unleashed, but already we're getting pretty good information about how the various classes and specializations are stacking up against each other. As is to be expected from the first raid tier, the results are all over the place, with some specializations like Unholy Death Knights overperforming by a large margin.

In order to sort this out, as well as buff up some of the weaker classes, Blizzard has announced that a brand new balance update will be coming in on December 15th. As for what exactly is being changed, that you can find out below:

Horizon Zero Dawn PC update has brought in a new batch of crash fixes and optimizations

[Update #2]: Horizon Zero Dawn PC Update 1.11 has brought in even more visual and performance improvements!

[Update]: Another PlayStation exclusive is now heading over to PC. This time around it's the 2019 survival-horror Days Gone.

While the initial PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn was a bit of a mess, Guerrilla Games have slowly but surely patched it to the point where it has basically no more major issues. As such, I am both surprised and happy to say that Guerrilla Games have now released yet another bug fixing and optimization focused update!

Much like before, a couple of pesky crashes have been sorted out, with the most important being the error that would sometimes occur when swapping resolutions. The update has also improved the automatic shader optimization, added a VRAM display to let you know how much VRAM is available and being used, as well as fixed a variety of graphical glitches including wonky plant simulation when played at framerates higher than 30FPS.

Windjammers 2 has been delayed until 2021 in order to add rollback netcode

Windjammers 2 official artwork and logo

Given that the whole of 2020 was marked with a ridiculous amount of delays, it only makes sense to end the year with another batch of them. This time around it's the arcadey and intentionally absurd sports game Windjammers 2 that's being pushed back until 2021.

"We analyzed in depth all these mixed opinions regarding some stuffs including the lack of rollback for the online mode, which was unanimously praised in everyone's feedback," reads the brief update. "We had to do something because Windjammers 2 online mode is also meant to encourage the competitive community to get into the game. Nevertheless, these changes caused delays and as a result, forced us to postpone the release date to 2021."

Valorant update has fixed some of the common complaints about the Icebox map

By Ash

Valorant screenshot of the Icebox map

A little while ago Valorant added its very first new map - the rather open and vertically focused Icebox. While things were looking quite positive during its initial run in unranked play, the moment Icebox became available in ranked things started getting out of hand very quickly.

The reason is that once players figured out the best routes and positions to take across the map, the vertical nature of Icebox resulted in most fights being one-sided ambushes. This was especially noticeable on the attacker side since they would need to clear a dozen different angles when entering A Site, with failure usually leading to a swift death.
