Call of Duty: WWII Nazi Zombies screenshot

While I'm by no means a fan of the Call of Duty series, the zombies side-mode has a very special place in my heart. As such, I am very glad to say that Call of Duty: WWII appears to be bringing with it some massive improvements to the concept, especially when it comes to the design of the zombies themselves.

If you're wondering what exactly I mean, you'll find your answers in the recently posted trailer down below. Its not overly long, but its definitely worth checking out if you're into co-op horde modes. Have a look:

Planet Coaster screenshot of the very first DLC

After numerous free updates it seems that the Planet Coaster team has finally decided to release some paid DLC as well. If you're worried this is going to disrupt the standard gameplay loop and force you to buy something you're not interested in, worry not as all three of the recently added DLCs are special themes for rides and movie-inspired props.

The three new DLCs are bringing with it the DeLorean Time Machine from Back to the Future, the K.I.T.T. and K.A.R.R. vehicles from Knight Rider, and the Munster Koach and DRAG-U-LA vehicles from The Munsters. Each of these content packs contains special themed karts and components for your Go-Karts, as well as different scaled pieces for you to mess around with. If you're wondering what this might look like in gameplay terms, here's the brief teaser trailer for the Back to the Future DLC:

Doom Guy classic armor set

While its multiplayer may be a bit on the generic side, Doom's campaign is some of the most enjoyable shooter gameplay I've experienced in years. Its all about fast movement, constant explosions and demonic dismemberment, hordes upon hordes of enemies that come at you from all directions, and most importantly of all, the rockin' soundtrack!

If you haven't already given Doom a try, but you have even a tiny bit of interest in FPS games, you're in luck as the free weekend has now begun! By heading over to Steam you can experience literally everything Doom has to offer for the next two days, after which you will need to actually purchase it in order to continue from where you left off.

Warhammer 40k: Inquisitor - Martyr official screenshot of a duel

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr is an upcoming action-RPG that aims to combine the grim darkness of the Warhammer 40k universe with the open-ended gameplay of the Diablo series. What this means in gameplay terms is that Inquisitor - Martyr will feature randomized levels, a massive focus on replayability, a ton of different weapons and abilities to toy around with, and naturally, hordes upon hordes of enemies to mow down.

If this sounds like the type of game you might be interested in, allow me to share with you the recently posted gameplay trailer that showcases the current Alpha state of Inquisitor - Martyr. In other words, the footage you're going to be watching is not from a fully finished game, but it is still polished enough to give you a good idea of the direction the developers are going in:

Shadow Warrior screenshot of some demons

The Humble Store is currently running a sale on anime-themed Bandai Namco games, and in order to drum up a bit of excitement they have decided to start off the event with a free game. As you might imagine from the title alone, the game in question is the modern reboot of Shadow Warrior - a game that's all about high-octane action and terrible Wang-related puns.

Shadow Warrior will be free to grab for only two days, so if you have even an inkling of interest in fast-paced shooters of old makes sure to head over to the Humble Store as soon as you can. And while you're there you might as well check out the currently ongoing sale as it features some pretty damn good games, as long as you're into JRPGs anyway.

Microsoft Windows XP logo and green fields background

In an announcement that I must admit comes as a massive surprise, Blizzard has just revealed that they will be ending support for Widows XP and Vista in October. Just to put things into perspective, Microsoft ceased public support for these versions of Windows all the way back in 2009 and 2012 respectively! So hats off to Blizzard, they kept their games compatible for way, way longer than was reasonably expected of them.

There aren't many details available right now, but if you're interested in Blizzard's reasoning behind this change you'll find the full announcement post right below. Have a look:

Mirage: Arcane Warfare Taurant screenshot with the Greatsword on the Pit map

Mirage: Arcane Warfare is a spiritual successor to Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, though with the highly armored and constantly screaming knights replaced with magic-wielding assassins and crazed wizards. After a lengthy beta period it officially released back in May, and now two months later it is getting its very first major content update.

The aptly named Gladiator Update brings with it two new arena styled maps to duke it out in, a brand new Greatsword weapon for the hulking Taraunt class, as well as fancy new spells for the Vypress, Alchemancer, and Vigilist to play around with. If you'd like a brief overview of what exactly all of this looks like in action, here's the recently posted trailer:

Absolver screenshot of a close quarters duel

Absolver is not exactly an easy game to explain. In the most basic sense its an online combat RPG with a heavy focus on fluid melee battles, though with the combat style being more alike the one from fighting games rather than classic action-RPGs. However, instead of using predefined skills and abilities like you would see in a fighting game, in Absolver you will be able to customize your fighter's entire move set, combos, blocks and dodges, special spells, and even weapons.

Since trying to explain all of this in a couple of paragraphs is a fool's errand, allow me to share with you the recently posted video that details weapons and spells. You wouldn't think such 'minor' features would need an entire video dedicated to them, but this is Absolver we're talking about and things are never as simple as they seem. Have a look:

Gigantic, battle of the spellcasters

Gigantic is a colorful and action-orientated MOBA most similar to SMITE in style. It has been in Open Beta for what feels like forever, and after numerous patches and new heroes it has now finally been officially released. Perhaps most importantly of all, Gigantic can now be found on Steam, as well as the Windows 10 Store.

If you're interested in finding out what Gigantic is all about, allow me to share with you the recently posted launch trailer. Its not overly long, but it'll give you a good idea of just what kind of MOBA Gigantic really is. Have a look:

Path of Exile's Fall of Oriath expansion artwork

Path of Exile is currently preparing for the biggest expansion it has ever seen. Once it arrives The Fall of Oriath will introduce six new acts, thus completely removing the need to replay the same zones in different difficulties, a whole bunch of new enemies including the damnable Bonewheel Skeletons from Dark Souls, a variety of new and intriguing spells to destroy said enemies with, and the list goes on for quite a while.

The Fall of Oriath has been in a Closed Beta status for a rather long time, and as such I am very happy to say that Grinding Gear Games has now finally announced the release date! You can expect to face off against the gods themselves on August 4th, though I highly doubt you'll manage to reach them on the same day given the ridiculous amount of zones that are being added as a part of the expansion.
