Castlevania: The Lecarde Chronicles 2 is a very competent and surprisingly faithful fan game

If you're eagerly waiting for Konami to stop being Konami and actually do something with the Castlevania series, I might have found a little game to tide you over until Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night finally arrives. The game in question is Castlevania: The Lecarde Chronicles 2 - a surprisingly faithful homage to the Castlevania games of old, as well as rather enjoyable fan game in its own right.
I've only played it for about thirty minutes so far, but from everything I've seen it both feels and plays like the oldschool Castlevania games. But don't just take my word for it, allow me to show you the relatively recent launch trailer. Have a look:
Chivalry-inspired Mirage: Arcane Warfare is officially releasing on Steam today
- By Ash
- in News
Mirage: Arcane Warfare is the spiritual successor to Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, though the highly-armored and constantly screaming knights have been replaced with a much more diverse cast of characters and plenty of destructive magic. But perhaps the biggest difference between the two PvP slaughterfests is that Mirage relies on predefined skills, weapons, and magical abilities, whereas Chivarly allows players to tailor their build in whichever way they desire. Both sides have their pros and cons, but its still something worth mentioning given how similar the two games are otherwise.
But rather than just describe what Mirage: Arcane Warfare is and isn't, let me share with you the recently posted launch trailer. Its fairly short, but it will give you a damn good idea of what kind of game you're getting into. Have a look:

If you're a fan of the ridiculously over-the-top Disgaea RPG series you'll be glad to hear that its latest installment will soon be making its way to PC as a part of the Disgaea 5 Complete collection. This information comes from the recently updated ESRB website which clearly shows that Disgaea 5 Complete has been rated for both the PC and Nintendo Switch.
For those of you that don't know much about the Disgaea series but are willing to go slightly insane in order to give it a try, allow me to show you the launch trailer for Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance. It does a pretty damn good job of setting the tone for the series, while also explaining what the actual gameplay is like. Have a look:

Red Dead Redemption 2's release date has been pushed back to Spring 2018
- By Ash
- in News
Back in October Rockstar announced Red Dead Redemption 2 and pinned its launch for Fall 2017, a rather ambitious release date given that we still haven't received a proper gameplay trailer. Unsurprisingly, Rockstar has now come out to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 is being postponed all the way to Spring 2018 in order to ensure it becomes the best game it can possibly be: "Some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans. We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready."
There is still unfortunately no word about the PC version, but I have a feeling its going to come at some point after the console one, much like GTA 5. There just isn't any reason for Rockstar to keep Red Dead Redemption 2 console-exclusive, especially now that we live in an era where executives have finally realized that PC gaming is neither dead nor a wretched hive of scum and villainy.
Ubisoft has released a short but intriguing teaser trailer for Far Cry 5
- By Ash
- in News
Last week Ubisoft officially revealed Far Cry 5 in what might just be the most barren announcement of all time - just a plain logo without a single bit of text to accompany it. While today's teaser isn't much better in terms of giving out information, it at least offers plenty of ammo for speculation and some... interesting scenes to ponder over.
The official announcement trailer will arrive on May 26th, but until then here's a brief glimpse at what Hope County, Montana has to offer. Oh, and make sure to pay careful attention to the bell-ringer during the later parts of the video! You'll understand why when you get there. Anyway, here's the video:

Starpoint Gemini Warlords, the third game in a series of space simulators/RPGs, is set to release from Early Access tomorrow, and in order to drum up a bit of excitement the developers are currently giving away its predecessor Starpoint Gemini 2 completely free of charge. The only catch is that you need to claim your free game until May 24th, 10am PST. Once you do that, however, it will remain in your Steam account forever and you can download it at any time.
If you're like me and this is your first time meeting Starpoint Gemini 2, allow me to share with you one of the gameplay trailers. Its not exactly detailed, but it should give you a good idea of what Starpoint Gemini 2 is all about. Have a look:
