After the thoroughly mediocre launch of X Rebirth Egosoft has now finally returned with an announcement for a brand new entry in the X series. Once it arrives X4: Foundations will bring with it the most sophisticated universe simulation the series has seen to date, the ability to explore, fight and trade with a variety of unique ships, and perhaps most interestingly of all, the options to construct your very own modular space station.

There are simply far too many details for me to cover in brief, so if you're interested in an overview of what exactly X4: Foundations is all about, you'll find what you seek in the recently posted announcement video down below. Have a look, its quite interesting:

The Closed Alpha for the medieval fighting game Mordhau will begin tomorrow, September 12th

Mordhau is an upcoming medieval multiplayer fighting game that aims to be as realistic and faithful to the time period as possible. Once its fully finished it will feature massive battles with up to 64 players, the ability to fight on horseback, gigantic castles that will need to be breached through the use of equally gigantic siege weaponry, and the list goes on. As you can see, these are some rather lofty goals, especially for a game that has been funded primarily via Kickstarter.

So if you're wondering whether Mordhau will ever be able to live up to expectations, or what the combat is even all about, you'll be glad to hear that the Closed Alpha will begin tomorrow, on September 12th at 18:00 UTC. Its currently unknown what exactly the alpha will contain, but its certainly going to be an interesting few days as this is the first time the public has been given access to Mordhau!

In an announcement that I must admit came as quite a surprise, the developers of Planet Coaster revealed what appears to be a spiritual successor to Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis. What this means in gameplay terms is that the newly announced Jurassic Park Evolution will allow us to create and manage our very own version of Jurassic Park!

If you're wondering what that might look like, and what sort of style the developers are even going for, make sure to check out the announcement trailer down below. The video unfortunately doesn't feature any gameplay, but it should still be enough to give you a pretty damn good idea of what to expect from Jurassic Park Evolution. Have a look:

Ruiner is an extremely stylish and fast-paced cyberpunk shooter that will have you explode, slice, and vaporize your way through hordes upon hordes of enemies. In order to do all of this you'll be given access to a variety of high-tech firearms and melee weapons, as well as a whole bunch of gadgets such as energy shields, dash augmentations, hacking tools, and the list goes on for quite a while.

Since trying to explain a brutal action game through words alone is a bit of a pointless venture, allow me to share with you the recently posted teaser trailer. It doesn't feature much in terms of gameplay, but it should still be enough to give you a pretty damn good idea of what Ruiner is all about. Have a look:

South Park: The Fractured But Whole now has two new videos showing off the different factions

In South Park: The Fractured But Whole we'll be delving into the crime-ridden underbelly of South Park in order to use our super-powered butt to save the world from utter annihilation. And like any proper super hero, along the way we will also need to chose an 'organization' to represent, either Coon and Friends or the Freedom Pals.

Since trying to choose which group of kids you want to get constantly berated by is not an easy task, Ubisoft has recently posted two recruitment videos to hopefully set you on the right path. Both vidoes are fairly short, but they should give you a pretty damn good idea of what to expect from The Fractured But Whole. Have a look:

The newly announced Anno 1800 will be taking the series to the industrial age

By Ash

After the fairly disappointing and seemingly unpopular Anno 2205 I figured the series would be taking an extended break, but that appears to not be the case as Anno 1800 has just recently been announced. Whether its going to fix the flaws that plagued its predecessor still remains to be seen, but on the positive side it'll at least be bringing the series into a highly interesting time period - the Industrial Revolution!

If you're wondering what all of this might look like, and what sort of tone and style Ubisoft is going for, you'll find what you seek in the latest teaser trailer. It unfortunately doesn't feature any actual gameplay, but it sure is pretty to look at! Have a gander:

CD Projekt Red and their "The Witcher" series are widely known and rightly praised today, but their beginnings were anything but smooth. If you haven't played the original Witcher PC game, you might even be surprised to hear that it was panned by both critics and users alike due to game-breaking bugs and a plethora of technical problems. Back then nobody expected it to have any sort of impact on the RPG genre, but due to CDPR's perseverance and a constant will to improve the series quickly rose in both popularity and quality.

So if you're wondering how exactly Geralt made the transition from being a book character to the star of his own RPG series, as well as what journey CDPR had to undertake in order to get him there, you'll find what you seek in the recently posted and extremely detailed documentary down below. Its about two hours long, but if you feel like peering behind the curtains of game development I would highly suggest you still give it a look as its really quite intriguing. But enough babble from me, here's the documentary:
