Fortnite's latest update has added the Hunting Rifle and a brand new location on the southern edge

It is downright impressive how quickly Epic is balancing and adding content to Fortnite. The last update was a mere two weeks ago, and already there is a new one! The rather plainly named Update V.3.1.0 has now brought with it Lucky Landing as a new point of interest on the southern edge of the island, the Hunting Rifle as a new weapon, as well as some much needed balance changes and bug fixes.
The most important of these new tweaks is the drop rate adjustment for the Burst Assault Rifle, Revolver and Tactical Shotgun. According to Epic this does not change the overall likelihood of finding the weapons, but it does increase your chance of finding a higher rarity version. A small change in the grand scheme of things, but as someone that gets saddled with a common Revolver far too often it's one that I'm quite happy with!
The battle royale shooter H1Z1 has now left Early Access alongside a new Auto Royale game mode

After spending quite a few years in Early Access, the battle royale shooter H1Z1 has now finally released in full. Besides the usual batch of quality-of-life changes and cosmetic additions, this latest update has also brought with it a brand new game mode - Auto Royale. As you might imagine from the name alone, it's pretty much the same style of battle royale gameplay, though spiced up by the fact that all teams are driving around in cars instead of running around on foot.
If you're wondering what all of this might look like in-game, wonder no more as the developers have recently posted a brief teaser trailer showcasing the Auto Royale game mode. Have a look, it's not a very long video:

[Update]: Four years after launch, indie strategy game Into the Breach has just added a ton of free new content.
Into the Breach is a newly released turn-based strategy game from the developers behind FTL. It gives you control of a variety of powerful mechs, each of which can be customized to fit your preferred playstyle, with which you will need to fight off alien swarms across a vast array of levels. More importantly, all of the enemy moves are telegraphed ahead of time, so whether you win or lose is going to be entirely up to you!
You can get a good glimpse at what all of this looks like in-game through the recently posted launch trailer. Have a gander, it'll quickly let you know whether Into the Breach is the type of game you'd enjoy or not:
Gwent's new Arena game mode has now arrived alongside a brief cinematic trailer

- in News
This shouldn't come as much of a surprise given how often it was teased on Twitch these past few days, but Gwent's very own Arena game mode has now made its way to the live servers. The way it works is quite simple. While drafting your deck you will always have a choice between four completely random cards of the same rarity, and all you really have to do is pick the 25 cards and leader you think are going to be the most useful.
Once you have your deck assembled you will have to face off against your fellow players until you either achieve 9 victories or 3 losses. The more wins you get the greater the rewards will be at the very end, and as an additional little bonus, if you somehow manage to complete your Arena run without being defeated you will also be granted an animated Gold card. Not bad for a game mode that gives you 3 free tries!

After going through numerous closed beta tests Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is finally set to arrive on PC this March 8th. It'll bring with it a variety of new maps to explore and pillage, a horde of new enemies to relentlessly slaughter, and perhaps most interestingly, three new and unique specializations for each of the five heroes.
If you're wondering what all of this might look like in-game, wonder no more as the developers have just released a brand new gameplay trailer. The video isn't terribly long, but it should still give you an excellent idea of what Vermintide 2 is all about. Have a look, it's well worth the two minutes:
Abandon Ship Detailed Review - Highly promising, but still clearly unfinished
- By Ash
- in Reviews
Abandon ship is a procedurally generated blend of strategy and adventure that's most similar to FTL in spirit. What this means in gameplay terms is that you can individually control every part of your ship and its entire crew, wonder across a vast world solving quests and random events, and naturally, fight off cultists, pirates and giant sea monsters that would love nothing more than to transform your insides into outsides. It's a fairly simple concept, and one that has been proven to work many times before, so I am happy to say that Abandon Ship has managed to pull it off as well.
However, while games like FTL are fully finished and well polished, Abandon Ship has only just started its 9-12 month voyage across the turbulent seas of Steam Early Access. As such, there is a noticeable lack of variety in the random events, some of the combat elements are quite clearly unfinished or just unbalanced, and the exploration can often become downright tedious. That said, there is definitely enough potential within Abandon Ship to create something truly great, so it's going to be interesting to see what the developers do with it over the next few months.
For now, however, let's go over everything Abandon Ship does right and what still needs a bit more work before it can be fit to sail.
The currently ongoing Humble 'Brawler' Bundle is actually all about fighting games

If you ignored the previous Humble Bundle because you're looking for something a bit more fast-paced than a classic cRPG, you might want to check out today's bundle. Despite having "Brawler" in the title it doesn't feature any actual brawlers, but there is a variety of fighting games on offer, some of which might just be up your alley.
You have games such as BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend and Skullgirls on the "pay what you want" tier, as well as Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- and Rivals of Aether on the highest tier. Rather than just babble on, allow me to share with you the list of games, as well as the tier they appear in. Have a look:
