Spec Ops: The Line is completely free to grab from Humble Bundle for the next ~38 hours

You've no doubt heard endless amounts of praise and criticism for Spec Ops: The Line at this point, so if you're curious to see what it's all about, you might be interested to hear that it's currently completely free on Humble Bundle. The offer will only last for another 38 hours, however, so do make sure to grab your copy as soon as possible, just to be on the safe side.
As for whether Spec Ops: The Line is actually worth playing, I'm genuinely not sure what to tell you. On one hand it has a story that packs a massive punch, even if you already know what the big twist is, but on the other hand it's a completely generic shooter that could barely keep me entertained throughout the short campaign. So the big question is: does an excellent story make the otherwise mediocre gameplay worthwhile? Well, that's something only you will be able to decide.
Vermintide 2 devs have detailed the upcoming weapon fixes and major nerfs to player damage
- By Ash

While trying to fix a wide array of completely nonfunctional talents, Vermintide 2 developer Fatshark recently uncovered another massive issue: the scaling system that's supposed to limit player power was not turned on in the live version! In other words, heroes are currently dealing around 40% more damage than they should be, while their weapons are managing to stagger and cleave through enemies with far too much ease.
A single day has passed since that announcement, and already Fatshark has managed to release a beta update that corrects the issue, as well as fixes some of the more egregious problems with weapons and talents. You can find the full list of changes over at the official website, but if you're just interested in the short version, allow me to highlight all of the important tweaks. Have a look:
Far Cry 5 has now made its way to both PC and consoles alongside generally positive reviews

After many months of waiting and quite a few interesting teasers, Far Cry 5 has now finally made its way to both PC and consoles. Thankfully, it would appear that all of the excitement and anticipation has not been been in vein as Far Cry 5 currently sports some highly favorable reviews. However, if you're planning to get it exclusively for co-op, you might want to wait for a little while as right now only the host can acquire new weapons!
On the positive side, the new Map Editor has already proven itself to be highly competent given that there are currently numerous fan-made maps available. Some are obviously complete junk as they were cobbled together within an hour, but there are a surprising amount of quality examples as well. This number is only going to grow in the future as the Map Editor features a wast array of assets from most of Ubisoft's modern games, so it really does come down to just how creative the community is going to be with it.
The colorful collectathon Snake Pass has now added a score-chasing Arcade Mode
- By Ash
- in News
Snake Pass is a retro collectathon where instead of the usual jumping about you need to coil around bamboo, slither alongside walls, dangle over absurdly large and dangerous cliffs, and do whatever else you might imagine an adorable cartoon snake doing. I reviewed it back in April of 2017 and I had a great deal of fun doing so, which is why I'm glad to say that the developers have now added a bit more replayability through the new score-chasing Arcade Mode.
As you might imagine from the name alone, the Arcade Mode will task you with completing each of the 15 levels while eating as much fruit as possible within the time limit. The more fruit you can rack up in a quick succession the more your score multiplayer will rise, so if you want to reach the very top of the leaderboard you'll need to learn the levels inside out!
You can get a small peek at what the new Arcade Mode looks like in-game through the recently posted teaser trailer. It's not a very long or very detailed video, but it should get the point across regardless. Have a gander:
Outlast 2 devs have added an easier "Story Mode" and reinserted some previously cut content
- By Ash
- in News
While Outlast 2 is a highly enjoyable survival-horror with an amazing atmosphere almost throughout the whole game, it does have one annoying flaw: there are simply far too many enemies preventing you from taking the time to explore the environments and see all of the bizarre little details. In order to offer an alternative, as well as help out completely new players, developer Red Barrel has now released an easier "Story Mode" with less enemy encounters and more room to explore.
"It is still possible to die, but we’ve decreased the number of enemies and have lowered their speed, damage and perception," reads the brief description on Steam. "We’ve also made tweaks to the pacing of the game to make more room for exploration, instead of chases."
Battlerite's update has added a brand new paladin-like champion and an Easter themed event
- By Ash

A mere few weeks have passed since Battlerite was graced by the sneaky and extremely aggressive Jamila, and already Stunlock Studios have released another champion. The newly added Ulric can best be described as a paladin, a melee-support that is fully capable of both healing his allies and dishing out a fair bit of punishment.
You can find the full list of his abilities, as well as all of his battlerites, over at the official website. If you just want the quick version, however, allow me to share with you the most recent Champion Preview. It's a little bit on the short side, but it'll still give you a good idea of what to expect from Ulric. Have a gander:
The remastered version of the classic cRPG Neverwinter Nights has now made its way to Steam

[Update #2]: Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition update has significantly improved the visuals!
[Update]: Neverwinter Nights has now received another hefty expansion - Tyrants of the Moonsea!
After only a few months since the original announcement, the remastered version of the classic cRPG Neverwinter Nights has now made its way to Steam. It has brought with it support for modern resolutions and the ability to actually read the text on today's monitors, a variety of minor graphical improvements, backwards compatibility with the original game, as well as some fan-requested improvements to both the storytelling and gameplay.
Unfortunately, the impressive graphical improvements Beamdog showcased a few weeks ago are currently not a part of the Enhanced Edition. Whether they will actually arrive or when they will do so, I'm afraid I simply don't know, and that is somewhat disappointing since Neverwinter Nights is one of those games that could really use a visual upgrade!
If you're wondering why I'm saying that, allow me to share with you the announcement trailer for the Enhanced Edition. It's fairly brief, but it'll get the point across:
