[Update #2] The patch is now live. You can find the full patch notes, as well as more about the accompanying "The Queen and the Crone" DLC over here.

[Update]: Creative Assembly have also announced four new Monster Hunts for Norsca. Next week we're most likely going to getting another Dwarf-related announcement.

In Warhammer lore the Skaven are present in just about every part of the world, their numbers completely beyond any measure. In Total War: Warhammer 2, however, the Skaven are one of the races that have the most issues expanding their influence across the campaign map due to how crippling the whole food system is. Up until recently you could remedy this by raiding your own lands, but ever since that got nerfed the Skaven have felt significantly less fun to play.

With that in mind, I am very glad to say that Skaven will be getting a major buff to their food sources with the massive May update. All of the details have not been revealed just yet, but you can expect to see new sources of food in technologies, rites and buildings. It might not sound like much, but it should go a long way towards promoting an aggressive playstyle for the Skaven, something the race has been designed around from the very beginning.

I would love to tell you more since the Skaven are my favorite Total War: Warhammer 2 race, but I'm afraid that's it as far as this teaser is concerned. What I can tell you, however, is that the Old World races (The Empire, Dwarfs, Vampire Counts and Greenskins) will be getting some nifty buffs as well. Again, not much has been revealed just yet, but the Dwarfs will be getting Giant Slayers - a fast-moving and armor-piercing unit to help deal with those pesky monsters that love to rampage through the Dwarf front lines.

Once more information gets released I'll make sure to cover it, but if you would like to keep an eye out for yourself, simply head on over to the official blog. And as a final note, it's also worth mentioning that the May update will bring with it the long-awaited Norsca DLC to Total War: Warhammer 2, along with its own set of new upgrades and tweaks that are to be teased next week.
