Diablo inspired hack & slash Warhammer: Chaosbane will be arriving this June 4th for PC and consoles

Warhammer: Chaosbane, much like the Diablo series from which it draws a great deal of inspiration, is a fantasy hack & slash that's all about mowing down large hordes of enemies, messing around with a variety of abilities and classes, and naturally, collecting more loot than even the Warhammer Fantasy races could ever hope to carry.

If that sounds like it's right up your alley, you might be interested to hear that the developers have finally announced a release date for both PC and consoles - June 4th. They have also released a brand new trailer, so if you're wondering what all of this might look like in gameplay terms, you'll hopefully find the answers you seek right below. Have a peek:

If you're like me and you've been hiding under a rock for the past few days, you might be interested to hear that Steam's Lunar New Year sale has now arrived with a bunch of discounts in tow. The one catch is that the sale will only last until February 11th, so if you feel like grabbing something, you might want to do it sooner rather than later.

On the other hand, if you're not certain about which games to pick up, allow me to give you a couple of suggestions across a variety of genres, with the only real qualifier being that the game is both good and cheap. Here's my little list, in no particular order:

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice's story trailer shows off some striking visuals and atmosphere

FromSoftware's action-RPG Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is set to arrive this March 22nd for both PC and consoles. While you can expect Sekrio to carry forward some of the elements found in Bloodborne and Dark Souls, it's important to mention that it's not aiming to be a simple successor to those games, but rather a more fast-paced and movement-focused RPG. After all, you'll have a grappling hook to help you move around the various levels!

While the recently posted trailer won't exactly tell you much about the gameplay itself, it will give you a bit of a sneak peek at the sort of narrative Sekiro will be taking us through, as well as what sort of character we'll be playing as. Have a gander:

Pillars of Eternity 2 has now added a fully-fledged turn-based mode

Pillars of Eternity 2 official artwork and logo

While I'm a gigantic fan of classic RPGs due to their focus on storytelling and actual roleplaying, there is one element of the genre that I've always found a bit lacking - the combat. Whether we're talking about Baldur's Gate, Torment: Tides of Numenera or the more modern Pillars of Eternity 2, the combat is always the weakest and least interesting part of the experience. I wouldn't go as far as to call the combat in these games bad, mind you, but for me the real-time, isometric combat system is a relic of the past and should remain there.

With that in mind, I hope you can realize just how happy I am to announce that Pillars of Eternity 2 has now added a turn-based mode! More importantly, instead of simply slowing down the action and keeping everything more or less the same, the developers have gone and rebalanced a good portion of the combat system in order to ensure that the new turn-based mode is more than just a gimmick. In fact, the changes are so extensive that you simply cannot shift between real-time and turn-based modes at will, so if you're planning to give Pillars of Eternity 2 another look, be prepared to start a brand new campaign.

February's Humble Monthly offers Vermintide 2, Earth Defense Force 4.1 and Cultist Simulator for $12

If you're looking for something to pass the time while we're still stuck in the "your brain will freeze if you go outside" weather, you might want to check out February's Humble Monthly bundle. For $12 it offers the excellent Vermintide 2, the incredibly cheesy Earth Defense Force 4.1, as well as the surprisingly captivating Cultist Simulator. And as an additional bonus, once the next month rolls around you'll get a couple of extra games as well.

As you might imagine given my review of Vermintide 2, I would highly, highly recommend you pick up this bundle. Both Vermintide 2 and Cultist Simulator are brilliant games in their own right, while Earth Defense Force 4.1 is somewhat niche, albeit still rather entertaining if you're willing to turn off your brain and just enjoy the mindless shooty action. I think Verminitide 2 alone is worth the $12, so if you're even remotely interested, make sure to give the bundle a closer look.

MTG Arena has now added best-of-three ranked play and slightly reworked draft matchmaking

By Ash

MTG Arena finally added a ranked play mode a little while ago, though unfortunately the developers made it so only best-of-one games counted for your progression. This meant that, much like Hearthstone, the best decks to climb the ladder with were ones that were so aggressive they would either win or lose in a couple of turns. Not exactly ideal for a competitive mode.

As such, I am very happy to say that the latest update has now also added best-of-three matchmaking. This not only makes surprise tactics a lot less relevant, but due to the presence of a 15-card sideboard, you can now also adapt your deck to each opponent so hard-counters are less of an issue. However, if you don't like best-of-three games, or you simply don't have the time to play them, worry not as the best-of-one mode will not be going anywhere! Best-of-three is merely an additional option.
