[Update #2]: Shovel Knight's dungeon-digging roguelite spin-off Shovel Knight Dig is set to arrive on September 23rd, 2022.

[Update]: Shovel Knight devs are working on a new 8-bit action-adventure - Mina the Hollower!

If there is any game that deserves Steam's "Labor of Love" award, it would be Shovel Knight. Despite releasing all the way back in 2014, the developers have simply refused to stop adding new and exciting content for it. 2015 brought in the Plague of Shadows expansion, Specter of Torment followed in 2017, and with the most recent release of King of Cards and the multiplayer-focused Shovel Knight Showdown, Shovel Knight is now officially complete!

Here's a brief trailer highlighting just what Shovel Knight is all about, as well as how unique each of the expansions truly is. Have a look:

Dynasty Warriors 9 has recently received a Complete Edition that bundles together all of the DLC

Dynasty Warriors 9 currently features an absolutely ridiculous amount of DLCs which add everything from new weapons to simple cosmetics. There is so many of these DLCs, that if you were to buy all of them individually, you would have to spend a rather hefty €676,25!

Since that is completely unreasonable, even for Dynasty Warriors, Koei Tecmo has recently released a Complete Edition that bundles the base game and all of its DLC in a somewhat more affordable €89,99 package. Here's the sort of content you can expect to see from the Complete Edition:

League of Legends has quite an expansive world filled with a whole bunch of interesting storylines and characters. However, due to League of Legends itself being a MOBA, pretty much the only way you can interact with its universe is by reading snippets of lore or short stories on the website.

So if you're like me and you're looking for a little bit more, you'll be glad to hear that Riot has partnered up with Airship Syndicate to develop Ruined King - a turn-based RPG set in the League of Legends universe! Here's a fairly brief teaser about what Ruined King's story will be about:

Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance is an upcoming action-RPG for both PC and consoles

[Update]: Co-op focused Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance has now arrived, though not without trouble.

While Dungeons & Dragons licensed games were all over the place during the rise of PC RPGs, for some reason they have become pretty much extinct these days. A real shame given that the Dungeons & Dragons universe is a genuinely fun one to roam around in, especially when developers decide to set the action in some far-away place that's rarely ever explored.

With that in mind, I should be extremely happy to announce that Wizards of the Coast and Tuque Games have partnered up to develop a Dungeons & Dragons action-RPG called Dark Alliance, but let's just say that the trailer doesn't exactly inspire a lot of hope. Have a look, it's certainly a very... special one:

PlanetSide Arena, the Battle Royale spin-off, will be closing down its servers this January

While I was initially optimistic about the idea behind PlanetSide Arena, the longer the development went on the more obvious it became that it simply wasn't as interesting as PlanetSide 2. And for a spin-off game that requires large amounts of players in order to launch even a single match, that wasn't exactly a good starting point.

As such, when PlanetSide Arena finally got released into beta, it did so to a rather tiny playerbase. Things only got worse from there as the already small community quickly started bleeding players until pretty much nobody remained. Since developing a game that nobody plays is in no way sustainable, it unfortunately won't come as much of a surprise to hear that PlanetSide Arena will be closing down its doors on January 10, 2020.

Physics based VR game Boneworks has now released onto Steam

[Update #2]: Bonelab, Boneworks' highly ambitious successor, is launching on September 29th.

[Update]: Boneworks has now finally added save spots, as well as a new Brawl game mode that lets you challenge vast numbers of enemies.

Boneworks is essentially a VR-based physics sandbox that attempts (and generally succeeds) at making the manipulation of VR objects feel both natural and realistic. What this means is that you can change and adjust your grip on weapons to swing them differently, use objects to push or move enemies and other environmental objects, as well as climb all over the levels in a variety of ways.

Rather than babble on, allow me to share with you the recently posted launch trailer. It'll give you a pretty good idea of just what Boneworks is all about, as well as how innovative some of its features truly are. Have a look:

In celebration of The Wolf Among Us 2's reveal, the original is now entirely free to grab

[Update]: Telltale Games are working on a story-driven series based on The Expanse TV show.

While the future for The Wolf Among Us 2 was looking incredibly bleak once Telltale closed down its doors, I am happy to say that sometimes good things do happen to games that deserve it as the development on The Wolf Among Us 2 has now started once again! AdHoc Studio will be the ones developing the game following in the same traditions as Telltale, which shouldn't be all that hard as they have a fair few Telltale veterans among them.

The details for The Wolf Among Us 2 are still few and far between, to the point that AdHoc Studio haven't even given an estimate of when the first episode is supposed to launch. As such, this is the perfect opportunity to give the original another playthrough, or to start it for the very first time!
