New World artwork for the Heart of Madness update

In an effort to spice up New World's endgame, Amazon Games have now announced a series of major updates that will be arriving throughout 2022. The first of these, Heart of Madness, will be launching later this March with a new storyline to explore, the Tempest's Heart Expedition to struggle against, 3v3 PvP Arenas, a PvP Reward Track, and most excitingly of all, a new blunderbuss weapon!

Much of this is currently available on the test servers, so if you want to dive into the new content ahead of time and see what's what, simply download the separate PTR client and you'll be good to go. Before you do so, it's worth mentioning that your progress on the test servers will not carry over, so once the Heart of Madness finally arrives you'll have to start right back from the beginning alongside everyone else.

As for the future, the Summer update will bring with it a very pirate focused set of adventures. While the details have not been nailed down just yet, you can expect to see the Barnacles & Black Powder Expedition, the arrival of the Expedition Group Finder, as well as a special and currently secret Summer Event.

The biggest update announced so far will come in Autumn. This one will bring with it the Brimstone Sands Territory, the Ennead Expedition, a new greatsword weapon, as well as the first appearance of leaderboards. And just to spice things up, there will also be two events to partake in: the Halloween inspired Nightvale Hallow as well as the Thanksgiving focused Turkulon 2022.

You can keep track of these updates, as well as learn more about the upcoming Heart of Madness, over at the official website. Enjoy!
