I wasn't aware that the Touch controllers even had a release date set for them given that every bit of communication from the Oculus team was about the Rift and the upcoming preorders.
So its unsurprising to hear that the Touch controllers are being delayed until the second half of 2016 with the preorders opening a couple of months before launch.

Perhaps this is due to me not really paying a lot of attention to esports the past year but the announcement that MLG has been losing money for a while now is a bit of a shock.
According to an article by Esportsobserver MLG's board of directors approved the sale of a large majority of MLG's assets to Activision Blizzard in exchange for $46 million.

Just Cause 2 Multiplayer Mod was an incredible piece of work that took the modding team years to get to a functioning state but once it was there it turned out to be really, really fun in that special Just Cause 2 sort of a way.
Luckily for us it would appear that the engine Just Cause 3 runs on is very similar to the old one because the modding team behind JC2MP has already come out with a teaser trailer showcasing seemingly flawless Just Cause 3 multiplayer.

If you haven't been following Albion Online the idea was that the purchase of various founder's packs would allow you entry in to the closed beta while the actual game would be free to play on release.
However, those plans have changed because in a forum post yesterday the Albion team announced that the game will not be free to play and that the closed beta will be extended for another 6 months in order to ensure a smooth launch.

The tail end of this year was marked with quite a few Final Fantasy announcements: FFVI is now on Steam, FFVII is getting a complete remake, there were even rumors about X and X-2 coming to PC which right now seem more credible than ever and finally we have the announcement for Final Fantasy IX.
The once Playstation exclusive Final Fantasy IX will be coming to PC and mobile "soon" according to the recently released Square Enix website. There's also a short trailer showcasing the port's improved graphics:

I've been hearing rumors about about there being a super secret ARG (alternate reality game) that came along with the recent Steam Winter Sale but until today I though they were just the products of people digging far too deeply in to nothing.
As it turns out I'm the crazy one here because the folks over at Reddit not only discovered a hidden password prompt on Steam but they also found a couple of other interesting clues:

Descent, for those of you that aren't in to retro PC gaming, is a really unique classic FPS where instead of being a guy on the ground you piloted a ship that could move freely in 3D space, meaning you could go up, down, left, right and even rotate yourself so the ship would be upside down. Add to that some kickass music and action packed gameplay and you've got Descent and its sequels.
The reason I'm bringing Descent up is because GOG is unfortunately bringing it and its sequels down due to Interplay, who holds the rights to sell the Descent games, not paying royalties to the developers.

If you have no idea what issue I'm talking about head over here for the detailed version but long story short for about an hour on Christmas people that logged on to Steam would essentially log in to other people's accounts and be able to see all of their private info. Given that it was a caching issue no one could actually change anything or purchase/trade games but it was nonetheless a serious privacy leak.
Now, after five days of basically radio silence Valve have finally spoken about the Christmas Steam issues. Here's the gist of it:

Morrowind Rebirth is a long standing Morrowind mod that changes the game in subtle but very important ways. It includes everything from bug fixes through combat and balance improvements to new NPCs, loot, enemies and so much more. My point is, Morrowind Rebirth was a really good mod when I first tried it years ago and its only been getting better ever since.
In the recently released update 3.5 you can find plenty of bug fixes and weapon balance changes but most importantly... TOILETS!

Crowfall is a rather interesting upcoming PvP-focused MMO where instead of grinding your way through levels in order to finally access raids or end-game PvP you'll be able to join the campaign battles from the get go. This naturally led to questions on how exactly the advancement system will work but until now we didn't know the specifics.
In a recently released video Crowfall developers talked about the changes they're making to the vessel system as well as how advancement is going to function.
