[Update #2]: Boltgun has now arrived, and I'm pleased to report it's looking quite good so far!

[Update]: It's time to polish your chainswords as Boltgun will be launching onto PC and consoles this May 23rd, 2023!

Warhammer's annual Skulls festival has now landed, and with it some fun new announcements. Total War: Warhammer 3 devs have teased their long-awaited Immortal Empires campaign, the Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous team has revealed a new Warhammer 40k turn-based CRPG, and there's even a Warhammer 40k themed Doom clone in the works!

The freshly unveiled Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun will be a sprite-based shooter that will give you control over a lone Space Marine as he attempts to deliver righteous vengeance against the forces of Chaos. In order to do that you'll have to shoot, hack or simply explode your way through hordes upon hordes of daemons and Chaos Space Marines in frantic 'boomer shooter' styled action.

Rather than babble on, allow me to share with you the recently posted trailer. It should clue you in quite quickly on just what Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun has to offer:

While no exact release date has been announced, you can expect Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun to explode onto the scene at some point in 2023. As for the launch platforms, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun is going to be available on PC, Xbox One and Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and 5, as well as Nintendo Switch.

I'd love to tell you more, but that's pretty much it as far as current information goes. You can keep an eye on any further developer updates over at Steam, and I'll leave you with a couple of teaser images. Enjoy!
