[Update #2]: Creative Assembly has now unveiled the truly massive Immortal Empires campaign map!

[Update]: Immortal Empires will be coming in August with 86 playable factions and a bunch of awesome improvements!

According to the recent roadmap, Total War: Warhammer 3's long-awaited Immortal Empires combined campaign map will most likely be launching at some point in September. While the wait is certainly going to be long, it'll all be worth it in the end as Immortal Empires will merge Total War: Warhammer 1, 2 and 3 into one gigantic world that's absolutely overflowing with things to do and places to conquer!

That said, you will have a chance to dive into Immortal Empires a bit ahead of schedule! As their contribution to the Warhammer Skulls festival, Creative Assembly has just announced that Immortal Empires will be heading into Open Beta in Q3 2022.

Sadly no actual release date has been announced just yet, but Creative Assembly did at least release an exciting teaser trailer showing off a Nurgle & Skaven invasion of Bretonnia, among other things. Have a gander:

In order to keep everyone in the loop, the Total War: Warhammer 3 team will begin releasing a series of articles covering the design philosophy and ideas behind Immortal Empires starting from June 14th. Once the first one arrives, I'll make sure to let you know.

For now, however, I would recommend giving Total War: Warhammer 2 a try if you haven't already. It's currently the most polished and content-rich game in the series, and while Total War: Warhammer 3 will most likely surpass it once Immortal Empires arrives, there's still plenty of time to enjoy everything it has to offer.
