Valorant artwork for the new Agent Syke and her pet tiger

[Update #2]: Valorant has pulled back the recent Update 1.11 due to massive technical issues.

[Update]: Valorant's Act 3 update has now brought in the very first new map - Icebox.

When it comes to brand new Valorant content, I bring both good and bad news. The good news is that we'll be getting a brand new Agent and map this month, while the bad news would be that even though the Icebox map will arrive on October 13th, the new Agent Skye will only follow two weeks later, on October 27th.

The reasoning, as you might imagine, is that Riot wants everyone to adjust to the new map before throwing in Skye and shaking things up all over again. And judging by her abilities, that's probably a good thing because Skye really does have it all!

She can do a slow area-of-effect heal that appears to be stronger than Sage's, concuss enemies with the help of her trusty Tasmanian tiger, and even blind enemies with her hawk. And if that wasn't good enough, her ultimate seeks out enemies and applies the nearsighted debuff, which is going to be absolutely devastating in coordinated pushes. I think you can now see just why Riot wanted to introduce Skye as cautiously as possible!

As for what all of these abilities look like in action, as well as how one might counter them, that you can find out through the recently posted preview. Have a gander, Skye's certainly an interesting Agent:

Once the Icebox map and Skye arrive I'll make sure to let you know, but until then you can read a little bit more about the upcoming season over at the Valorant website.
