[Update #2]: Back 4 Blood will not be getting any more content updates as Turtle Rock Studios are now working on a brand new game.

[Update]: Back 4 Blood's Children of the Worm expansion has now added a new story chapter, enemies and more.

Many months and balance updates have gone by, but Back 4 Blood's very first bit of new content has now finally arrived. The freshly released Tunnels of Terror DLC brings with it two new characters, three new zombie variants, as well as Ridden Hives that serve as optional PvE challenges you can dive as you push through the story campaign.

You can also expect to see some fancy new player and weapon skins, new legendary weapons and attachments, as well as a variety of cards to help spice up the gameplay. The one bit of bad news is that the DLC has has not added any new maps or campaign levels to explore, so outside of the brief excursions into the Ridden Hives you're mostly going to be slicing and dicing your way across the same old locations.

What all of this looks like in action, as well as what sort of style the Back 4 Blood team went for with the Ridden Hives, that you can find out through the freshly posted trailer. Have a little peek:

Besides all of the paid content, the Tunnels of Terror expansion has also brought with it a sizable free update. You can find the full list of changes and additions over at patch notes, but the most important one in my opinion is the newfound ability to unbolt weapons so you can freely swap or remove your attachments. It's a little bit pricey at 500 copper, but being able to upgrade your favorite weapons is definitely worth the trouble and something the community has been asking for since day one!

Once the next big update arrives I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, you can learn more about the Tunnels of Terror expansion over at Steam. Enjoy!
