Back 4 Blood artwork showing off Prophet Dan and the second DLC - Children of the Worm

[Update #2]: Back 4 Blood will not be getting any more content updates as Turtle Rock Studios are now working on a brand new game.

[Update]: Back 4 Blood's River of Blood expansion has added a new campaign act, game mode and some highly destructive weaponry.

With the first Tunnels of Terror DLC Back 4 Blood mostly added new ways to spice up the already existing levels. With the freshly released Children of the Worm DLC, however, the focus is on expanding the core campaign and giving players a whole bunch of new stuff to mess around with.

As such, you can expect to see six new levels as a part of Act 5, "Prophet" Dan as a brand new Cleaner that gives powerful bonuses when reviving people, new weapons and accessories, as well as new human enemies that are capable of more advanced tactics than simply charging at the players. Here's a little peek at what all of this looks like in action, as well as what the new act's story is really all about:

Besides all of the gameplay-focused additions, the Children of the Worm has also brought with it a variety of new cosmetics to collect. There's eight exclusive pre-collapse skins for the Cleaner crew, as well as twelve 8-bit themed weapon skins to ogle as you smash your way through zombie hordes.

Much like the first one, you can either get Children of the Worm individually for €15, or grab it as a part of the Annual Pass for €40 which also includes the original DLC and the currently unannounced third one. Whether it's actually worth the time and money, however, that you can find out by checking out some of the player reviews on Steam once they start popping up in greater numbers.

Enjoy, and here's to hoping this ends up being a good one!
