If you were hoping to start strapping giant plasma guns onto dinosaurs this week I am afraid I have some bad news... or rather good news depending on your perspective. In a recent announcement over at Steam the Ark: Survival Evolved devs have stated the "Tek Tier" Patch 254 has been delayed until January 30th in order to ensure a polished release.
While the slight delay may be annoying, there is apparently an "extra-special surprise feature" that should more than make up for all the wait. Here's the full quote: "We're going to be delaying the release of Patch 254 until the 30th of January. I know a lot of you are excited and trust me, we are too. This patch is much larger than we first anticipated and we need more time to work on it in development, and through internal QA process prior public release. However soon you will get to enjoy a hell of lot of new content, and we're cooking up an extra-special surprise feature for the patch!"

You have to hand it to Blizzard, they are taking Legion's content flow very seriously. World of Warcraft's Patch 7.1.5 has only recently arrived to the live servers, and already we have Patch 7.2 making its way to the PTR (Public Test Realm).
Most of Patch 7.2's major features aren't enabled just yet as the primary testing focus for this build is the newly added Demon Invasions and general stability, but there is a lot of awesome stuff hidden behind the scenes. If you don't mind spoilers, and there is a whole bunch of them, you can find all of the recently datamined information over at MMO Champion. There's bits and pieces of the upcoming Tier 20 armor set, new Class Hall research, class mounts, new character models, and so forth.

Before we move on to anything else, it is worth pointing out that the For Honor closed beta will start on January 26th. But unlike most closed betas out there, this ones is anything but exclusive. So if you would like to give For Honor a try ahead of its February 14th release date you simply need to go to the official website, choose a faction and your preferred weapon, and you'll be granted a beta key - its as simple as that!
And if you're wondering what kind of a PC you'll need in order to even run For Honor, you're in luck as Ubisoft has just released the official system requirements, as well as a list of officially supported GPUs and controllers. Have a look:
The Witcher 3's Super Turbo Lighting mod version 3 is now available

If you're a fan of messing around with visuals in an effort to create more realistic images, you'll be glad to hear that The Witcher 3's long-awaited Super Turbo Lighting mod version 3 is now available. In short, the STL mod is a slightly rework how lighting functions in The Witcher 3, with each and every single zone receiving numerous changes to it more similar to the 2014 preview build.
But rather than just blabber on about something completely visual, allow me to instead show you the recently posted preview video. Before you start watching, however, I would recommend slightly decreasing the volume because the vocal portions of the song are loud enough to wake the dead. Anyway, have a look:
Ubisoft has released a lengthy gameplay preview for Ghost Recon Wildlands's singleplayer mode
- By Ash

Ghost Recon Wildlands is Ubisoft's upcoming open world tactical shooter where you'll get to join an elite special operations unit in order to take down a rather well entrenched drug cartel. Given the focus on team-based tactics and open-ended missions it should be no surprise to hear that Ghost Recon Wildlands is primarily a multiplayer focused game, but it does bring with it a singleplayer mode where you get to roam the land alongside three (hopefully useful) AI partners.
So if you're interested in seeing what Ghost Recon Wildlands might look like in singleplayer, and if you're wondering whether your AI teammates are a bunch of blithering idiots, you should check out the recently posted developer walkthrough. There are some very minor spoilers in the video, but let's be perfectly honest, you're probably not getting Ghost Recon Wildlands for its deep and complex narrative. Anyway, here's the video:
The recent Steam update has added Xbox 360, Xbox One, and generic X-Input controller support
- By Ash

Steam has had native support for PlayStation 4 controllers since last month, and with today's update that has extended to Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers, as well as any controller using the generic X-Input. In other words, no matter what sort of a controller you use, it should now work on Steam without any extra effort.
This might not sound like big news, especially since most games already support Xbox 360/One controllers, but if you ever had to mess around with JoyToKey or other such key mapping programs you know exactly how welcome this update really is. Nothing is better than just plugging in your controller and simply pressing start to play, without the whole 15 minute procedure that sometimes goes before it!
