The competitive brawler Battlerite is free to try out on Steam until Monday, October 1st
- By Ash
- in News
Battlerite is the spiritual successor to Bloodline Champions, and much like its predecessor its a highly competitive brawler with a wide variety of unique characters to choose from. Most importantly, there is absolutely no randomness present in any aspect of gameplay, so all that matters is personal skill and the ability to cooperate with your teammates.
If this sounds like the type of PvP game you would love to sink your teeth into, you'll be glad to hear that Battlerite is completely free to try out on Steam until Monday, October 1st. And if you end up liking what you see, you'll also be glad to hear that Battlerite will be on a 50% discount until October 2nd. In other words, don't feel rushed to make a purchase. You'll have an entire day to ponder over your decision after the free weekend ends.
Blizzard has released another Overwatch comic, this time detailing Zarya's pursuit of Sombra
- By Ash
- in News
It has only been a couple of weeks since the Roadhog themed "Wasted Land" comic arrived, yet Blizzard has already released another one. As you might imagine from the title, the newest "Searching" comic details Zarya's pursuit of Sombra, as well as her slowly-shifting opinions about Omnics in general.
The premise might not sound like the most interesting thing in the world, but I would still suggest you give the comic a read as it brings up some rather interesting questions. Oh, and make sure to carefully look through some of the backgrounds as there's quite a few Easter eggs sprinkled throughout the whole comic, though some of them might not be instantly recognizable.
Vaporum is a grid-based dungeon-crawler with a bit of a steampunk flavor to it
- By Ash
- in Indie Games
Vaporum is a newly released grid-based dungeon-crawler inspired by oldschool classics such as Dungeon Master, as well as the more recent Legend of Grimrock. The one big difference is that Vaporum only features one character, rather than a party of four. On one hand this makes the combat a lot less spammy and a lot more tactical, but on the other it limits the amount of useful items you can pick up throughout your journey, which could represent a bit of a problem for an exploration-focused RPG.
Whatever the case may be, its certainly an interesting idea, and if the most recent trailer is any indicator it appears to be one that has been executed quite well. But don't just take my word for it, have a look for yourself, especially if you're wondering what Vaporum is all about. Here's the video:
The Evil Within 2 now has a new trailer showing off the 'righteous' Father Theodore
- By Ash
- in News
Throughout The Evil Within 2 we'll have to deal with a wide variety of deformed monstrosities, yet it is the normal-looking and outwardly friendly 'monsters' that are perhaps the most dangerous of them all. One such example would be the mysterious and charismatic Father Theodore, a priest with a simple message: join him, or suffer 'righteous' fury and immolation for your sins.
While the recently posted teaser trailer doesn't go into many details due to spoiler concerns, it does a rather good job of highlight Father Theodore and his role in the story. So if you're interested in the 'friendly' faces you'll see throughout your journey, you'll find the video right below. Have a look:
LawBreakers is completely free to try out on Steam and PS4 until Monday, October 2nd
- By Ash
- in News
LawBreakers released a short while ago to some positive reviews, though due to its rather hefty €30 price tag it failed to acquire a stable playerbase. According to Steamcharts the current situation is quite dire indeed as LawBreakers only has an average of ~158 players! Not exactly ideal for a game that released a mere month ago, I'm sure you'll agree.
In order to reverse this trend, and hopefully bring in some fresh blood, the developers have announced an extended free weekend. From today until Monday, October 2nd at 6pm BST LawBreakers will be entirely free to try out on Steam and PS4. So if you ever wanted to give LawBreakers a try, now would be the best time to do so as you're guaranteed to have plenty of beginners to spar with.

After months and months of teasers and trailers Total War: Warhammer 2 has now finally arrived. It brings with it a massive new campaign map to explore and conquer, four new races that each have their own unique abilities and playstyles, a whole bunch of new mechanics revolving around the Vortex ritual, and the list goes on for quite a while.
While the recently posted 360° trailer won't exactly offer you a detailed look into everything Total War: Warhammer 2 has to offer, it should be good enough to give you a general idea of what to expect. Have a look, its quite an interesting video since you can move around:
Hob is a newly released action-adventure from the developers behind Torchlight
- By Ash
- in Indie Games
Hob is an exploration-focused action-adventure that will have you solve a variety of puzzles in between beating up all of the indigenous life forms with your giant robo-fist. There are also some minor Metroidvenia elements present throughout Hob, so as you progress further into the world you'll be able to unlock new areas or just open up hidden pathways in previous ones. All of this is done through the rather ominously sounding World Machine that lies just beneath the surface of the planet, though what exactly it is I'm afraid you'll have to find out for yourself.
If you would like a bit of a sneak peek, however, you'll find the recently posted launch trailer right below. Its not overly long, but it should give you a pretty good idea of what Hob is all about, and more importantly, how it plays. Have a look:
