Death's Gambit is a Dark Souls inspired action-RPG with a focus on challenging-but-fair difficulty

Death's Gambit is a highly challenging action-RPG inspired by Dark Souls and primarily focused around precise combat against deadly enemies. As you might guess given its inspiration, Death's Gambit will bring with it a variety of unique weapons and abilities to toy around with, numerous regions filled with secrets and danger at every step, and naturally, gigantic bosses that will most likely stomp you into the ground a dozen times before you finally figure them out.

While its most definitely inspired by Dark Souls, Death's Gambit is by no means a simple copy, as you'll see in one of the lengthier gameplay previews down below. The video is about a year old at this point, so don't expect to see everything polished to a mirror sheen, but it should still give you a pretty damn good idea of what Death's Gambit is all about. Have a look, its well worth a watch:

Resident Evil 7's latest gameplay trailer offers a brief look at the two upcoming DLCs

Chris Redfield from Resident Evil 7's Not a Hero DLC

After being slightly delayed due to quality concerns, Resident Evil 7's "Not a Hero" DLC will be arriving this December 12th alongside the Gold Edition. As expected, it will be entirely free for all owners of Resident Evil 7, regardless of the edition or time of purchase.

What I didn't expect, however, was a second DLC detailing the end of Zoe Baker, the girl you quite hilariously left on the pier while you sailed away with your wife. There isn't much information available right now, but what I can tell you is that Zoe ends up being crystallized as punishment for helping you escape, though that doesn't appear to be the titular "End of Zoe" as she seems to get rescued shortly after by a surprisingly friendly family member.

Hearthstone's October update will be improving consistency between the various card effects

When you have a game as massive as Hearthstone it is of the utmost importance to have consistency between the various cards. Unfortunately, that's not exactly the case right now, and cards with very similar text can perform their actions in wildly differing ways. Not exactly ideal for a card game that prides itself on accessibility.

As such, I am very glad to say that Blizzard will be fixing some of these inconsistencies in the next update. For example, using a Stampeding Kodo to kill a Mad Scientist will no longer pull a Mirror Entity that immediately copies the Stampeding Kodo, purely because the Stampeding Kodo had already entered play before the secret was even active. In other words, under this new system you will no longer need to remember obscure interactions and combos since the effects will play out exactly as they are written!

Guild Wars 2's Shadow of the Mad King Halloween event will be starting later today

Guild Wars 2's Shadow of the Mad King Halloween event official screenshot

With Halloween now fast approaching it was only a matter of time before Guild Wars 2's annual Shadow of the Mad King event made its 'terrifying' return. However, unlike the previous few years the Halloween event will not be launching on October 18th, but rather on October 17th. In other words, it will be coming later today!

In terms of content you can expect to see a repeat performance from the various Halloween themed zones and events: a festive version of Lion's Arch, the Mad King's Labyrinth and Clock Tower, the Ascent to Madness mini-dungeon, and the somewhat annoying Mad King Says mini-game. Naturally, there will also be a ton of new and returning cosmetics to collect, so make sure to grab the Bat Wing Glider while its still available.

Age of Empires: Definitive Edition comparison between the new and original visuals

If you were hoping to get your hands on the remastered version of the original Age of Empires this week, I'm afraid I have some bad news. According to the most recent announcement, Ages of Empires: Definitive Edition has been delayed from its October 19th release date all the way to early 2018.

As you might expect, the Definitive Edition is being pushed back in order to secure a bit of extra time for testing and polish, as well as what appear to be new features. There aren't that many details available as of right now, but here's the full announcement message if you're interested:

Epic has announced a whole bunch of new features for Fortnite's Battle Royale game mode

It has been less than two weeks since Epic added Duos and Supply Drops to Fortnite's Battle Royale game mode, and already they are planning an absolute ton of new features. You can expect the upcoming patches to bring team communication (including voice chat support), improvements to loot density and inventory management, an anti-cheat system and performance improvements, stats and leaderboards, a better progression system, and the list goes on.

There are far too many major additions to cover in brief, so if you're interested in all of the details you'll find the full list down below. Its a bit on the lengthy side, but there is very little padding, so if you're interested in Fortnite's future I'd say its well worth checking out regardless. Have a look:

After many months of teasers and previews, Warframe's Plains of Eidolon expansion has now finally arrived. It brings with it the very first open-world zone, a bunch of absolutely enormous new alien creatures to tackle alongside fellow players, a variety of new quests and bounties to undertake, the usual array of new weapons and armor as well as additional crafting recipes and cosmetics, and the list goes on for a while. Needless to say, Plains of Eidolon is a rather massive expansion!

If you're interested in seeing what all of this looks like in-game, and more importantly what it plays like, you'll find what you seek in the most recent developer preview. The video is quite lengthy and it covers a variety of different gameplay elements, so it should give you a good idea of just what Plains of Eidolon is all about. Have a look:
