As previously announced, Overwatch's extended free trial period has now begun. So if you're up for some team-based shooty action, head on over to the official website and you'll be able to experience everything Overwatch has to offer on both PC and consoles until November 26th.
You'll have access to the full roster of 29 heroes (including the newly released and rather fun Ashe), all 19 maps spanning the various game modes, all currently available cosmetics, and naturally, the numerous official and unofficial custom games that reside in the Arcade. The only thing you won't be able to access is the competitive mode, though that's not exactly something you'd want to jump into with only a couple of hours of playtime anyway.
Total War: Warhammer 2 has now finally made its way to both Linux and Mac

After what feels like an eternity from its original launch, the absolutely gigantic strategy game Total War: Warhammer 2 has now made its way to Mac and Linux as well. Much like its predecessor, the port was not handled by Creative Assembly themselves, but rather by Feral Interactive. You might know them from their work on the Mac and Linux versions of XCOM 2, Mad Max, Tomb Raider, Dawn of War 3, and quite a few other games.
For those of you curious about what exactly Total War: Warhammer 2 is all about, allow me to share with you one of the original trailers discussing just that. Have a gander, it's well worth the two minutes:
Steam's Autumn Sale and the Steam Awards nominations have now arrived

If you currently have some free time and a bit of extra money, and you feel like it's a good idea to get rid of both, you might be interested to hear that the Steam Autumn Sale has now arrived! Much like the past few sales there's no special gimmick that requires you to come back every few hours, so if you see a game you're particularly interested in, you can just grab it without worrying about it going on a deeper discount within the next few days.
Since Steam is a pretty big platform and choosing games can be a rather daunting process, allow me to share some of my favorites from the past year or two. Here they are, in no particular order:
The Overwatch PTR has been updated with some significant Brigitte and Doomfist nerfs

While Overwatch has a fairly extensive list of counters for nearly every character, there are still two heroes that are exceedingly hard to deal with: Doomfist and Brigitte. In order to correct this issue, as well as hopefully put a stop to the rather annoying meta we currently find ourselves in, Blizzard has now introduced some hefty nerfs to both heroes.
You'll find all of the details over at the official forums, but since the changes are scattered throughout multiple posts, allow me to also give you a quick rundown of what to expect. Have a look:
The cult classic action-adventure Killer7 has now made its way to PC via Steam

If you're even remotely familiar with SUDA51's work, then it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to hear that Killer7 is a rather unique combination of somewhat clunky gameplay, bizarre and interesting storytelling, as well as heaps of creativity that ties it all together. It originally released for the PlayStation 2 and Gamecube, and after quite a long delay, it has now finally made its way to PC as well!
While the recently posted trailer won't exactly tell you what to expect in terms of gameplay, it will at least give you a brief glimpse at just what Killer7 looks and feels like. Have a peek, it's a pretty short trailer:
Overwatch will be entirely free to try out from November 20-26 on both PC and consoles

If you're one of the five people (I counted) that have an interest in Overwatch but have somehow managed to avoid the dozens of free trials so far, you'll be glad to hear that a brand new one will be starting up next week. To be more specific, Overwatch will be free to play on both PC and consoles from November 20-26.
In terms of content, you will be able to access the full roster of 29 heroes (including the newly released Ashe), all 19 maps, all currently available cosmetics, and naturally, a variety of game modes. The only thing that'll be locked away from you is the competitive mode, though that's not something you'd want to jump into as a completely new player anyway.
MTG Arena has now added the ability to duel friends, as well as greatly sped up certain animations

[Update]: Small correction: It appears that the friend list has not yet been added and will come with the upcoming "social features" rework.
After quite a long delay, MTG Arena has now finally added a friend list, as well as the ability to challenge said friends to a duel. So if you ever get tired of the meta and the scores of players that require a full minute to play one land, just challenge a friend to a match and you'll be able to mess around with whatever weird deck you want. It's pretty much what Magic: The Gathering was designed around, so I'm really glad they finally brought it into MTG Arena as well!
Besides the ability to bully your friends, this update has also significantly sped up animations in order to make playing more complex or combo orientated decks actually possible. In other words, you will no longer have to burn the better part of your turn by trying to resolve the stack with cards like Niv-Mizzet or Thousand-Year Storm. Now we just need the ability to automatically resolve certain effects so we won't have to click a million times for each +1/+1 counter put on Ajani's Pridemate for example.
