I've sunk over 1000 hours into Darktide over the past few years, so to justify that life choice, I figured I'd share some of the most fun (and powerful) builds in my roster - one for each of the five classes.

These aren't designed for the highest levels of Havoc, but if you're looking for builds that can comfortably carry you through just about everything else, and with a bit of style, you're in the right place. Without further ado, let us begin!

Lex Imperialis is Rogue Trader's second major story expansion, and it tackles the most terrifying nightmare in all of Warhammer 40k - Imperial Bureaucracy! Over the course of its roughly 16 hour campaign you'll chase down shady conspiracies, team up with a grizzled Arbites agent and his adorable murder-mutt, and try your hand at the new Overseer class that lets you command a variety of weird but wonderful minions like the Psyber-Raven.

So, where does Lex Imperialis shine? Where does it stumble? And most importantly - should you play it?

Wizard of Legend 2 Review [Full Release] — A Brief but Brilliant Blast

Wizard of Legend 2 is, in many ways, like a fireball - it starts with a bang, makes one hell of an impact, and then it just kind of fizzles out. A real shame, but at least it's a blast while it lasts! Greetings and welcome friend, I'm Ash and let's begin by immediately addressing the most common criticism I've seen among Early Access reviews: the performance issues and constant crashing. So is the launch version just as bad? Thankfully, no.

In fact, in my 16 hours with the game I've only encountered a single technical problem, though it was a recurring one. Sometimes, when the game is loading in a ton of enemies, there can be a brief stutter. It's nothing too major as it appears rarely and 'stuns' both you and the enemies, but I'd still like to see it get fixed, and soon. Aside from that, Wizard 2 ran without a hitch. I had no FPS drops, no crashes, and most impressively of all, no gameplay bugs of any kind. It just worked.

Deep and Surprisingly Addictive Roguelike Deckbuilder – You Should Try: Monster Train 2

I put a frankly embarrassing amount of hours into the first Monster Train, and by the time I completed all of the difficulty levels I was convinced I was done for good. So when I saw that Monster Train 2 is almost here, I barely even blinked. Been there, done that. Whatever. But then I randomly tried the demo - and five hours later... yeah. It turns out I'm very much so not done!

Monster Train 2 has wisely stuck to the original's formula, and just made everything bigger, better and more intricate. And honestly? It kinda blew me away! Greetings and welcome friends, I'm Ash and today I'd like to show you what exactly hooked me, what's new in Monster Train 2, and why you might want to jump aboard.

You Should Try: Project Zomboid - Almost certainly the best zombie survival game ever made

"You Should Try" is a series of articles where I showcase a game I really enjoy while explaining what exactly makes it so much fun. This can be any game: new or old, action or strategy, indie or AAA. The only requirement is that it has to be something I've found myself obsessed with and in need of sharing with the world.

Today I think you should try Project Zomboid - in my humble opinion, easily the best zombie survival game ever made. With a tense and immersive atmosphere, a massive world to explore and inevitably ruin, countless hordes of zombies to squabble against, as well as a high degree of customization, Project Zomboid simply has it all! So if you would like to experience a zombie sandbox game without equal, allow me to show you why you should give Project Zomboid a try.

Monster-Catching RPG That Blends Pokemon and Darkest Dungeon – You Should Try: Voidsayer

By Ash
in You Should Try

Artwork and logo for Voidsayer - a Pokemon and Darkest Dungeon inspired monster-taming RPG

Voidsayer is a monster catching, dark fantasy RPG inspired by, you guessed it, Pokemon and Darkest Dungeon. The premise is that the world has been overrun by all manner of horrors. As one of the last few people standing your job is to head out into the wasteland, capture some of the alien entities and utilize their powers to defeat the rest of their kind. And if you fail, humanity is almost certainly doomed, so you know - no pressure!

And much like most of these types of games, Voidsayer begins in the most classic way imaginable - a strange old man corners you and forces you to take one of three deadly critters off his hands. In this case a dragon, a bad pun, and Cthulhu. Naturally I immediately went with the dragon, because it's a friggin' dragon, though I would've also been fine with Cthulhu. If you actually decide to go for the cabbage cat in this scenario, I'm sorry about the direction your life has taken you and I sincerely hope that things get better for you in the future.

Gritty Retro Survival-Horror Inspired by Silent Hill – You Should Try: Labyrinth of the Demon King

By Ash
in You Should Try
on 20th of May 2025 @ 12:11 am
Labyrinth of the Demon King artwork for the survival horror dungeon-crawler game

Labyrinth of the Demon King is a grim and dreary survival horror RPG inspired by oldschool classics like Silent Hill, Resident Evil and King's Field. You play as a lowly footsoldier on a foolhardy quest avenge your fallen master – and it sure as hell feels like it. Your weapons are rusty and half-broken, horrific monsters inhabit nearly every corner of the world, and even the non-hostile characters are about as helpful as a punch to the gut. And yet, despite how awful everything is, actually playing Labyrinth of the Demon King is a lot of fun!

But before we begin, I just want to say that Labyrinth of the Demon King is so retro that it exclusively runs in a 4:3 aspect ratio! In order to spare those of you on smaller screens I'll be stretching out my screenshots and footage to a more comfortable HD resolution. Now usually this would be a big no-no given how much it would ruin the image, but considering how grainy and blurry Labyrinth of the Demon King is on its own, it's thankfully almost unnoticeable.
