If you're like me and you haven't touched a Call of Duty game for many years now, you might be surprised to hear how futuristic all of it has become. The world appears to be some sort of utopia, space ships are practically everywhere, and to top it all off, we now posses a "Moon Gate" whose purpose I can only begin to imagine.

Things have certainly become a lot more interesting, though a lot more confusing as well given that the main antagonists in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare come from beyond the stars. In order to give you at least a bit of an idea of who you're going to be fighting against, the Call of Duty folks have released a brand new video showcasing the 'big baddie' and the overall storyline. Have a look:

Hearts of Iron IV, Paradox's World War II grand strategy wargame, has recently been updated with its very first major patch. The oddly named "Sunflower Patch" brings with it massive improvements to the AI, an overhaul of the user interface, numerous balance changes, and perhaps most importantly, a greatly improved online multiplayer.

You can read the full patch notes by heading over to the Paradox forums. However, if you're just interested in the short version before jumping in and figuring things out as you go, here are the highlights of this update:

Dishonored 2 clockwork robots

The original Dishonored was an amazing game, there is no doubt about that, but it did have a few issues with balance. The majority of the powers you could unlock were of dubious usefulness, often due to their clunky nature that could easily leave you in a sticky situation, which resulted in most players primarily using the Blink ability from start to finish.

Thankfully, it does appear that Bethesda and Arkane are well aware of these issues as Dishonored 2 brings with it numerous quality of life upgrades for Corvo's powers. Blink now allows you to pause time as you choose your destination, Possession can be chained from host to host, Bend Time lets you completely manipulate the flow of time, and the list goes on.

If you're interested in a bit of a sneak peek at what all of this looks like in action, and more importantly, what sort of characters you'll be dealing with, Bethesda has recently posted a video showing off just that. Have a look:

Given how popular Overwatch has become, even in its early days, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hear that there are multiple competitors trying to take a piece of Blizzard's cake. The first of these to arrive, at least to my knowledge, is Paladins - a team based shooter from the developers of Smite, Global Agenda and Tribes Ascend.

With that introduction out of the way, let's now play a little game. I'm going to show you the most recent trailer for Paladins, and what I want you to do is to try and spot as many Overwatch inspired characters as you can. Here's a hint, there's a lot more of them than you think:

World of Warcraft: Legion Emerald Nightmare Ursoc boss screenshot

World of Warcraft: Legion's first raid, the Emerald Nightmare, will be opening its gates on September 20th along with Mythic Keystone Dungeons. In order to give everyone at least a brief glimpse at all of the horrors they'll have to constantly bash their heads against, Blizzard recently posted a boss preview for the Emerald Nightmare.

Before you move on, do be aware that this preview contains within it multiple spoilers for both the Val'Sharah storyline and the raid itself. If that doesn't bother you, or if you already know many of the names you'll be fighting against, you can find the full article over at the Blizzard website.

All these bosses aside, the Blizzard designers also talked about their inspirations for the Emerald Nightmare and what exactly they have planned for the raid in terms of story:

Resident Evil 7 official artwork

While I'm sure they still have some fans among the general populace, the last few Resident Evil games have not been very inspiring... to put it lightly. With so many failed experiments now behind them, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hear that Capcom has decided to take Resident Evil in a completely different direction with Resident Evil 7.

Instead of the third person perspective and tank-like controls the new Resident Evil brings with it a first person perspective and completely fluid movement. Instead of the constant focus on over the top action, Resident Evil 7 is attempting to do a more subtle, atmospheric horror experience. Rather than just list out all of the difference, allow me to instead show you the latest trailer. It should give you a pretty good idea of the new direction Resident Evil 7 is taking the series in:

[Note]: The update is now live!

As the majority of the 'serious' playerbase has now reached level 110 and begun delving into Mythic Dungeons - certain imbalances have started to become quite apparent. For example, Demon Hunters are able to absolutely demolish the DPS meters when it comes to fights with multiple enemies, whereas Warlocks suffer from a ridiculously long wind-up time before they finally hit their stride.

Thankfully, it does appear that Blizzard is aware of these issues as they have just announced their plans for an upcoming balance patch. There won't be any sweeping changes that completely redefine how a class is played, these sort of corrections will be reserved for a much larger patch down the line, but there are still some nifty changes coming in the near future (with some of them already being live). Here's a brief overview of what's changing, but do keep in mind that these aren't official patch notes:

World of Warcraft: Legion's Halls of Valor dungeon

For those among you that love hardcore content, but hate how raids work in World of Warcraft, there is some good news on the horizon. Starting on September 20th, the first time you complete a Mythic dungeon each week you will be rewarded with a Mythic Keystone for a randomly chosen dungeon. With this magical little doodad you'll be able to enter the long-advertised Mythic Keystone dungeons and fight against more powerful enemies, all with the intent of getting even more powerful loot.

Each time you complete a Mythic Keystone dungeon your Keystone will level up, attune itself to a different dungeon, and offer you a chance to chase after even scarier enemies for even greater rewards. The first four Keystone levels will be fairly simple, at least as far as mechanics are concerned, but after that you can expect to see the enemies gain new modifiers and effects - not unlike the Rares and Elites in the Diablo series. Here's a few examples of these Keystone modifiers:

Dark Souls Legends of Flame artwork

The enigmatic Dark Souls games are at this point no strangers to comic books. A couple of months ago we had a four part mini-series covering the early days of Aldritch (yes, the god-eating blob monstrosity from Dark Souls 3) and his rise to power, and already there is a second series springing up.

Fans of cannibalistic blobs will be disappointed to hear that the Legends of Flame does not continue on from where the first series left off, but instead tells the tale of a noble knight afflicted with the curse of undeath. If you're looking for a bit more information I'm afraid I will have to disappoint you as I simply couldn't find any. The announcement email I received, the official website, the Titan Comics storefront, all of them list out the same few vague paragraphs that don't really explain the plot or the characters:

Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 8 - A Journey's End? promo screenshot

After many adventures and memorable moments the five-part Minecraft: Story Mode series has finally reached its conclusion with Episode 8 - "A Journey's End?". If you're seeing something a bit... wrong with that sentence, worry not as your sanity has not abandoned you just yet. Back in March Telltale announced that they still had a whole bunch of stories to tell, so they extended Season 1 of Minecraft: Story Mode to a grand total of 8 episodes.

As for Episode 8, the question mark is in its title is there purely to hint at an upcoming Season 2 given that Telltale has gone on record by stating that this is definitely the "epic conclusion of the Adventure Pass add-on series". Here's the trailer and a brief description to hopefully give you an idea of what Episode 8 is all about:
