The co-op focused Warhammer: Vermintide 2 arrived onto Steam this March 8th, and already it has become a massive success. Not only has it blitzed past the original's record for concurrent players within a single day, but it has also managed to sell more than 500,000 copies on PC alone in less than a week! For an indie game that really didn't do much marketing, that is about as impressive as it gets.

“We are proud and happy that gamers worldwide have taken Warhammer: Vermintide 2 to their hearts.” says Martin Wahlund, CEO Fatshark. “500,000 games sold was a milestone that we had, but not less than a week after release.”

Chances are that Vermintide 2 will achieve even bigger milestones in the future as it is set to arrive on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at some point later this year. I certainly hope so because Vermintide 2, despite all of its flaws, is a highly enjoyable game with a highly affordable €28 price tag.

My full review will probably be up tomorrow, but if you're interested in my detailed thoughts on Vermintide 2 I'd recommend you check out my pre-release preview. It's slightly outdated since I only had access to a couple of maps at that point, but it should still give you a good idea of what Vermintide 2 is all about and why I like it so much.

If you prefer official sources, however, you should head on over to either the Vermintide website or Steam in order to learn more. And finally, allow me to send you off with the recently posted gameplay trailer. Enjoy watching rat-men get clobbered!
