[Update]: The Chaos Wastes expansion has now finally arrived, and as expected, it's a pretty good one!

Fatshark announced quite a few months ago that they are working on a rather sizable new expansion for Vermintide 2 - Chaos Wastes. And then, in true Fatshark fashion, they proceeded to go radio silent and never actually explain what the Chaos Wastes will even bring to the table, let alone when the expansion will actually launch.

While that first part is unfortunately still a mystery, I am pleased to say that we now at least have a release window! As such, you can expect to see the PC version of Chaos Wastes launch this April, while the console version will follow at a later date.

In terms of concrete information, I can tell you that Chaos Wastes will bring with it a variety of new maps, a new roguelike inspired game mode that will have you make a bunch of hard choices throughout the run, as well as numerous new weapons to toy around with. The one bit of bad news, however, is that Fatshark has just confirmed that Chaos Wastes will not bring with them any new enemy types, which is a damn shame considering that this was the perfect place to introduce a whole bunch of mutated monstrosities and Chaos Daemons.

Once Fatshark finally spills the beans and reveals all of the major Chaos Wastes additions, ideally alongside a gameplay trailer, I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, enjoy the third anniversary event!
