[Update]: Scarlet Nexus has now landed onto PC and consoles alongside some mixed reviews.

During the recent Xbox showcase, Bandai Namco has announced that the Tales of Vesperia team is working on a brand new action game - Scarlet Nexus. The whole thing takes place in a futuristic version of Japan where bizarre, plant-infested monsters are waging an endless war against humanity. And if that just wasn't strange enough, humanity appears to also have access to a variety of psychic abilities, most of which involve lifting and throwing the enemies around like ragdolls.

Since words alone can't exactly convey the atmosphere and style of Scarlet Nexus, allow me to instead share the recently posted trailer. Have a gander, it's quite a fun one:

Besides the protagonist being both incredibly generic and somewhat poorly voice acted, I have to say that Scarlet Nexus looks genuinely interesting. And with both God Eater 3 and Code Vein ending up as solid, anime-like action games, there's a pretty good chance Scarlet Nexus will be a blast to play as well. I certainly hope so, because Remedy's Control has given me a craving for throwing an entire apartment's worth of stuff at my enemies!

How exactly the combat will play out in Scarlet Nexus, as well as what the story itself will be about, I'm afraid we'll have to wait for a little while in order to find out as there isn't even a release date available just yet. The only thing I can really tell you for certain is that Scarlet Nexus will be coming to PC, Xbox and PlayStation.
