[Update]: Path of Exile's next update will have you plan and execute high-stakes heists!

In an announcement that I must admit comes as a rather big surprise, Path of Exile studio Grinding Gear Games has announced that a Mac version is not only in development, but is almost ready to launch as well! While no exact details have been given just yet, the macOS version will be launching this September alongside a major content update.

It's also worth mentioning that according to the brief announcement, the macOS version will not be available through the Mac App Store. Instead, you'll be able to directly grab it through either the Path of Exile website or Steam itself.

Naturally, the macOS version will be functionally identical to the PC one and will have all of the same features and support all of the same accounts. Best of all, Mac players will be getting the various updates simultaneously with PC players, which should make switching between the versions nice and easy!

I would love to tell you more, especially about the upcoming 3.12 expansion, but I'm afraid that's all that has been revealed for now. You can keep an eye on any further updates, as well as the full macOS announcement, over at the official website.

Until then, have fun with the currently ongoing Harvest League!
