Overwatch screenshot of Brigitte using her shield

[Update]: The patch has now been released in full, though with a couple of extra console-exclusive changes in tow!

These past few weeks have been downright amazing for Overwatch. Not only did Blizzard announce massive updates to the Workshop and their own take on hero bans, but they have also been releasing balance changes at an extremely rapid pace!

So even though the last round of changes only just arrived, Blizzard has now already unleashed another batch of tweaks onto the PTR. This time around heroes like Brigitte, Wrecking Ball and Widowmaker have been nerfed, while the often-forgotten Symmetra has received a small buff. Here's what's being changed:

Wrecking Ball

Piledriver

- Affected players’ loss of air control reduced from 1 second to 0.5 seconds

Brigitte

 Repair Pack

- Armor over-heal reduced from 75 armor to 50 armor

- HPS decreased from 60 to 55

Symmetra

 Photon Projector (Secondary Fire)

- Damage increased from 120 to 140

Widowmaker

 Widow’s Kiss

- Full charge time for scoped shots increased from 0.83 sec to 1 sec

If you're confused about why Brigitte is getting nerfed, the answer would be because she's currently one of the strongest supports at the higher echelons of Competitive Play. And since Baptiste and Moira have both received nerfs to their healing output in order to counteract last year's power creep, the time has come for Brigitte to get the same treatment as well. It's not a big nerf by any stretch, so if you're a fan of Brig, worry not as she'll still be highly useful!

As for the rest of the changes, I am extremely happy with the Wrecking Ball and Widowmaker nerfs since I generally dislike anything that kills enemies without them being able to do much in return. The Symmetra change, on the other hand, I'm not exactly sure about.

It's a nice little buff, but I'd much rather see something that helps her survive in the middle of a fight, even if it comes at the expense of her turret's power level. On the positive side, if the Symmetra buff doesn't end up having much of an impact, we might just get another set of changes in a week or two given the new patching system!
