[Update #2]: Halo Infinite's open-world singleplayer campaign has now arrived for PC and Xbox, and so far it's looking remarkably good.

[Update]: Halo Infinite's free Season 1 multiplayer beta has now been unleashed ahead of its December launch.

I don't know what it is with this week specifically, but there have been quite a few delays announced! Dirt 5 has been pushed back to October 16th, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is set to launch at some point in 2021, while the newest addition to the list, Halo Infinite, has now also been delayed until 2021.

"The decision to shift our release is the result of multiple factors that have contributed to development challenges, including the ongoing COVID-related impacts affecting us all this year," explains the brief developer update. "I want to acknowledge the hard work from our team at 343 Industries, who have remained committed to making a great game and finding solutions to development challenges. However, it is not sustainable for the well-being of our team or the overall success of the game to ship this holiday."

"We know this will be disappointing to many of you and we all share in that sentiment. We wanted nothing more than to play our game with the community this holiday. The extra time will let us finish the critical work necessary to deliver the most ambitious Halo game ever at the quality we know our fans expect. Thank you for your support and understanding!"

Once the new release date gets announced I'll make sure to let you know, but until then I'm afraid all we can do is sit and wait. And just for good measure, I'll leave you with one of the lengthier gameplay previews. Enjoy!
