[Update #2]: After many, many delays, Bloodlines 2 will be re-revealed in September 2023, though you can now refund your pre-order if you wish

[Update]: Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has lost its Lead Narrative Designer and Creative Director.

If you were itching to get your hands on Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 this year, I'm afraid I have some bad news. According to the latest announcement, Bloodlines 2 has now been delayed until 2021, with no specific date set just yet.

The reason, as is quite often the case these days, is that the team needs a little bit more time in order to make sure everything is as polished as it can be. And honestly, given how janky some of the recent previews have looked, this delay is most definitely a positive thing in my book.

"Due to the quality bar and ambitions we have set for ourselves, we have made the difficult decision that we need more time," reads the developer update. "This means that our goal to release in 2020 is no longer possible."

"This is not a decision taken lightly nor is it the first option we considered. We understand this will be a disappointment to many of you, but we also appreciate how our ambition is echoed through many parts of the community. We hope you understand that, while difficult, this is the right call."

You can learn a little bit more about Bloodlines 2, as well as keep an eye on its new release date, over at the official website.
