Dota 2 artwork for the new hero Primal Beast

[Update #2]: Dota 2's hotly anticipated Patch 7.32 has now arrived with a brand new lane creep and tons of changes!

[Update]: Dota 2's "larger than normal" Patch 7.31d will be launching on June 8th, 2022.

Valve may be slow, but they sure do have impeccable timing. Just as the Dota 2 community started to whip itself into a frenzy over a lack of updates, Valve swooped in and unleashed Patch 7.31c!

As you might imagine from a smaller, more balance-focused update, Patch 7.31c is mostly here to sort out some of the overpowered heroes and strategies left behind after 7.31. Primal Beast has been smacked by a variety of nerfs to his damage output and survivability, Death Prophet's ultimate no longer tears through buildings like a hot knife through butter, while heroes like Necrophos, Medusa and Chaos Knight have been toned down without really impacting their usefulness.

While somewhat less relevant for the average player's game where heroes like Chen and Enchantress are essentially taboo, the Harpy Scout and Dark Troll Summoner neutral creeps have also been nerfed. The harpy now gives less vision and runs out of mana quicker, while the troll has weaker skeletons and a longer cooldown.

The most important changes, in my eyes anyway, are to Vladimir's Offering and its upgraded version Wraith Pact. Not only is Vladimir's Offering a solid 150 cheaper to build, but the Wraith Pact totem now gives an insane 30% damage reduction against all sources, along with a bunch of other bonuses. So if you haven't been building Wraith Pact because microing the little totem is tedious, I would say it's about time to reconsider your stance as the item looks incredibly powerful now.

You can read the full list of changes, as well as keep track of any follow-up fixes, over at the Dota 2 website. Enjoy!
