Vampire Survivors official artwork for the indie bullet-hell roguelike

[Update]: Vampire Survivors' "The Posh One" update has added a wacky new weapon and improved the Hurry mode!

After the remarkably bizarre Update 0.6.66, Vampire Survivors' newest Update 0.7.2 has now brought us back to a mostly normal state of affairs. There's now a brand new level to explore by the name of Cappella Magna, three new characters to acquire (two of which are secret), as well as a variety of new items and Arcanas to help spice things up.

First things first, if you're curious what some of these new additions look like in action, allow me to share with you the freshly posted teaser trailer. Have a gander, it's just as weird as the rest of them:

In order to access all of the new content you will first need to beat the 'boss fight' on the Moonglow map. Once you've done that you will gain access to the new map Cappella Magna, and with it a way to unlock the first of the new characters - Zi'Assunta Belpaese. Her weapon Vento Sacro can be combined with Bloody Tear (Whip + Hollow Heart) to create the near unpronounceable yet remarkably fun Fuwalafuwaloo, so that should be your first goal in this update.

As for the rest, I'd recommend diving into the update relatively blind and trying to figure out how to get some of the new unlocks on your own as that's always a nice bit of fun. That said, unlocking one of the new characters Smith IV is basically impossible without help, so here's how to do it:

Ensure you have both Exdash and Toastie secret characters unlocked
Type in "spam" on the main menu
Quickly move onto the character selection screen and type in "spam"
Then go to the stage selection screen and type in "spam"
Finally, enter a map and type in "humbug"
Once you finish your run Smith IV will become unlockable for a small gold fee

Have fun with all of the new stuff, and if you're interested in the full patch notes you can find them over at Steam.
