[Update #2]: Biomutant has now finally been unleashed, though it arrives alongside a fairly mixed reception.

[Update]: Biomutant has now been pinned for a May 25, 2021 release date!

The open-world, post-apocalyptic kung-Fu RPG Biomutant instantly caught my attention when it was first revealed a few years ago. Unfortunately, despite starting off strong with some lengthy trailers, news about Biomutant quickly started slowing down, until eventually there was almost nothing new to even talk about.

Why exactly that was the case, I'm afraid I have no idea, but I am very happy to say that the silence has now been broken as THQ Nordic has released a rather lengthy gameplay preview. Have a gander, it's quite an interesting one:

As expected given the small team behind Biomutant, the gameplay is a little bit janky, but I'd be lying if I said that's a dealbreaker for me. After all, I am more than willing to overlook some of Biomutant's faults when the world and character design is so unique and charming, especially when it comes to some of the NPCs shown throughout the preview. So as long as the exploration is exciting and the combat solid enough, I think Biomutant should be a good bit of fun!

When it comes to the release date, however, I'm afraid nothing new has been announced just yet. Should that change, I'll make sure to let you know, but until then you can learn a little bit more about Biomutant over at the official website.
