GOG Has Taken Down Descent And Its Sequels From The Store

By Ash

Due to issues between Interplay and the developers Parallax GOG has taken down Descent from the store.

Descent, for those of you that aren't in to retro PC gaming, is a really unique classic FPS where instead of being a guy on the ground you piloted a ship that could move freely in 3D space, meaning you could go up, down, left, right and even rotate yourself so the ship would be upside down. Add to that some kickass music and action packed gameplay and you've got Descent and its sequels.

The reason I'm bringing Descent up is because GOG is unfortunately bringing it and its sequels down due to Interplay, who holds the rights to sell the Descent games, not paying royalties to the developers.

Valve Has Released A Statement About The Steam Christmas Issues

After suffering some heavy problems with Steam Valve has now finally issued a statement on what exactly happened

If you have no idea what issue I'm talking about head over here for the detailed version but long story short for about an hour on Christmas people that logged on to Steam would essentially log in to other people's accounts and be able to see all of their private info. Given that it was a caching issue no one could actually change anything or purchase/trade games but it was nonetheless a serious privacy leak.

Now, after five days of basically radio silence Valve have finally spoken about the Christmas Steam issues. Here's the gist of it:

Morrowind Rebirth 3.5 update is fixing plenty of bugs as well as doing a lot of balancing

Morrowind Rebirth is a long standing Morrowind mod that changes the game in subtle but very important ways. It includes everything from bug fixes through combat and balance improvements to new NPCs, loot, enemies and so much more. My point is, Morrowind Rebirth was a really good mod when I first tried it years ago and its only been getting better ever since.

In the recently released update 3.5 you can find plenty of bug fixes and weapon balance changes but most importantly... TOILETS!

Crowfall developers detail their Vessels system as well as how advancement will function

Crowfall is a rather interesting upcoming PvP-focused MMO where instead of grinding your way through levels in order to finally access raids or end-game PvP you'll be able to join the campaign battles from the get go. This naturally led to questions on how exactly the advancement system will work but until now we didn't know the specifics.

In a recently released video Crowfall developers talked about the changes they're making to the vessel system as well as how advancement is going to function.

My recommendations for the Steam Winter Sale of December 29 through December 30

I haven't done one of these recommendations the past few days as I really didn't see that many games which were both good and on a decent discount.

However, today's rotation on the Steam winter sale brought with it quite a few good deals so here are my Steam sale recommendations for December 29-30:

Terraria trailer is showcasing new the new grappling hook, crimson enemies, new graphics and more

I'm looking at my Steam account right now and it says I played 200 hours of Terraria, an absolutely insane number for what I originally thought would be a funny little 2D Minecraft clone. What I got instead was a rather unique game with plenty of things to do and regular content-filled patches that kept me hooked on it for months at a time.

And now, watching the teaser trailer for Terraria: Otherworld I can't help but feel that Terraria itch calling me to once more for a final playthrough. The trailer, titled Swing Grappling, showcases the new and improved grappling system, some rather pretty visuals and a scary new rendition of the Crimson, have a look:

The Ship: Murder Party Developers Are Looking For Some Testers For The Remastered Edition

By Ash

The Ship developers are looking for some alpha testers to help them out this January

If you've never heard of The Ship: Murder Party you've been missing out. It is an online multiplayer murder mystery game where you are given a quarry to track down and kill while evading your own hunter in the process. The gameplay is probably best described as a sillier and more in-depth version of Assassin's Creed multiplayer but most importantly, it a really fun experience, especially with friends.

The reason I'm mentioning all of this is because I saw on Reddit that the developers Blazing Griffin are looking for more testers in order to ensure that the Remastered (or Remasted as they call it) version of The Ship ends up being as polished and as balanced as possible.

So if you're willing to give an improved version of The Ship a try for free while helping the developers out with some bug-finding now's your chance.
